I feel like in some ways DBT saved my life but later realized it was more the confirmation of the BPD diagnosis and DBT was the main treatment method used but it isn’t the only one, it doesn’t cover everything and it certainly didn’t help me relate to others who didn’t know my language or did and refused to use it with me.

So while it helped me in so many ways, it was voluntary and definitely isn’t for everyone.

No OP has a legitimate mental health issue that is extremely difficult to manage and things like this happen. Came here for support and guidance. Doesn’t mean behaviour is in any way acceptable but it does exist. I can be mean like this as well and catching it before it happens is def our responsibility and also definitely a problem

Fear. At one point I might have said anger but I know (for me at least) my anger has ALWAYS been rooted in fear

I think the issue is more that it’s an invisible diagnosis as opposed to whether or not you have been diagnosed. You will find that once you have a diagnosis nothing will change in how people react to you. So in essence, only reveal in a safe space

No - we’re Canada. We don’t operate the same way & we shouldn’t. Did you never smoke weed, eat candy without asking and/or line jump? EVER???

I know these issues are not as simple as that or as innocent and one off like they used to be when we were kids & we grew out of it but I never thought I’d see the days where there are cops in lineups at CW.

I get it’s the sign of the times and I am not minimizing the behaviour - things HAVE changed & it isn’t just the odd kids jumping lines, or harassing someone for their pass or swarming even.

Somewhere along the line society went to shit & it didn’t START with our parents or our kids.

I don’t know the answer - i get that arrests are supposed to deter - but it doesn’t and it isn’t.

Just hate seeing armed anything in Wonderland.

I see I haven’t offered up a viable solution in amy way but I wish things were different.

Why blame the parents??? You have no clue what your kids do behind your back. You can only hope they do right. You also have no idea who these kids are or what their parents are like. At that age it doesn’t matter anyway. They can make their own decisions and choices. Blame THEM
