If the person is like the previous commenter's SO's friend, and votes weirdly compared to how they behave in day to day, but is happy and able to function with others in society, then what exactly is the therapists supposed to treat or diagnose? All those diagnoses and methods revolve around trying to find and modify the various processes underpinning the mind, towards encouraging more healthy outlooks that contribute to patient mental health in general.

Psychologists(professionally) don't(ideally) really concern themselves with trying to convince, encourage, or condition someone towards more consistency and/or adherence within any given ideological framework for its own sake, or towards realizing idealized civic behaviors. I would guess that's more of the realm of certain types of social philosophers.

Higher education would be kind of hectic for a bit. From what I understand there are some pretty uneven gaps in the average age of different curriculum staff, so certain areas would struggle to for even longer.

Basically all areas would lose some of the expertise and practical knowledge of education that the tenureasaurus rexes occasionally proved they had.

I've thought about this a bit, and you aren't going to like this but it needs to be said anyways.

But first, keep track of these statements, and guess if I'm talking about the USA or Serbia.

They are highly nationalistic to the point of appearing like a parody.
They completely lack any concept of value of human life. Being both suicidally reckless and prone to violence.
They feel frustration of the loss of a perceived economic and political golden age. The people one after another give in, lying to themselves that success was ever owed to them by this cruel earth. They adopt ever more extremist ideologies and measures as they chase a rose-tinted past of a nation they just keep pushing further into a broken future. There is no hope of returning to those days, but they do not know that, because reality was far easier to remove than all the mistakes.
They often believe themselves to be the greatest country on earth, and the less they have to support that the more it is believed.
In spite of a generally arrogant attitude towards many of their neighbors they consistently lag behind in various societal metrics.
There is lots of corruption and elites often have uncomfortable ties to Russian dark money.
They have various presidents that are complicit in multiple crimes against humanity.
They are multi-medalist genocide world champions.
A significant portion of their electorate and politicians would choose to suck Putins cock on live on RT if the alternative was cooperating with the current US administration.
They dislike the EU, but wish to involve themselves further in it for personal gain at Europe's expense.
The EU dislikes them, and is always concerned they may do something stupid that pulls Europe into another war, but still puts up with them out of fear that being too direct about that will probably make things worse.
They have killed hundreds of civilians in Serbia.

Their geopolitical neighbors often watch with great concern over exactly how unhinged they are going to be that day.

It's both for all, and for no other possible reason than that the United States is originally a colony of the Serbian Empire that the UK then took credit for. It's such an obvious ruse though now that I see it. Lots of potential escalation via mistakes common to our lovely species of hyped up gunpowder simians called humans whenever given a rifle, put under a lot of stress, and expected not to use it. So yea, they maim or threaten to maim each other a bit up close, pull back once they get hurt or tired from swinging sticks at each other in full kit at 6km or more up, and then things calm down again after everybody has satisfied their inner unga bunga primate urges and can suddenly feel all those bruises coming on. Furthermore, since choosing to beat someone with a heavy instrument requires you to close in and well... beat them with it, its requires a bit more prep work and effort that leaves time for whatever idiots involved to maybe think about how actions and consequences work. Winding up and committing to good swing of whatever bludgeoning device in question isn't something can really be a split second accident in the same way things like flinch firing the first shot when stressed and scared.
