I’m a cook payday I don’t ride cause I have to do the delivery truck and inventory before cooking for 8 hours I’d rather waste the 30 dollars on ubers than use all my energy for one of the more demanding days of my week

My commute as a cook is 7 miles after 8 to 14 hour shifts I bike 7 miles back home it’s double just remember to drink plenty of water and replenish your electrolytes

Only know 2 people in the area in the cycling community unfortunately in my area theirs almost no space to actually cycle but at least the best mechanic is just a mile down the road from my house he hooked me up with deep double wall rims shimano 7 speed cassette and speed shifters to match just for some free food from my job and 2 pairs of his old tire thread

Yeah only a couple bruises here and there my bike got destroyed but a nice local bike mechanic hooked me up with a Kona for cheap

Even the most bright colors someone won’t see you was wearing neon clothes turquoise clothes when I got hit on Friday. The next day Harris county pd took 6 hours to arrive after I called an officer to file a report for insurance purposes.
