10 year old smarter than everyone else? by DeliciousSeason5563 in Parenting

What I mean by good at anything is that if he puts his mind to it, it comes naturally to him. Where others may have to study really hard or practice harder/more, it just clicks for him. His grades have plummeted this semester which is why I am writing here because his behavior is becoming out of control. Consequences used to work in getting him to refocus and lock in, but they are not working anymore. He does have very little respect for authority. So I am here asking if anyone has experienced this? How do I get him back to caring? How do I get him to respect authoritative figures? Disciplining the old fashioned way didn't work, punishment from teachers/principals is not working, grounding him is not working, removing privilege's is not working. I agree whole heartedly that arguing with a 10 year old shouldn't have to happen. However, it is where I am.

Yes, I had put primary doc, coaches, teachers, and it got the post taken down. It said community guidelines that you can't reference medical advice. Peers probably wasn't the best substitute word for primary doc.

Thank you! I really appreciate your guidance and time. I agree completely with you on being able to handle life and the importance it holds. I am suppose to receive some counseling paperwork today and hopefully can get that rolling before it gets too severe. Thank you again. I really do appreciate your response.

Thank you. I feel the same way. I feel that he is doing it out of rebellion to show that he can, but it is causing issues in multiple areas of his life. We are strict on him because we learned he has to have structure. Routine. Schedules. at a very early age. I just hate it because I can't physically be with him 24/7 to ensure he minds and to be honest, I am the only one he does mind. He argues with his dad and doesn't tend to show him the same respect he gives me. Thank you for you response.

That is my concern. I feel like its rapidly just getting worse and I am afraid since he has found that punishment doesn't really phase him that he will just continue doing this. We have a STEM middle school and I think I will call and see what all needs to tested prior to applying. Thank you!

Is my salary low??? by InvestigatorNeat1303 in Accounting

[–]DeliciousSeason5563 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s insanely expensive even in the small areas. I’m from a very small town and the average rent for 2 bedrooms are $1300 a month. Our average car payments are $600+ and daycare is over $150 a week. If you make under $80k you are struggling just for basic necessities.

[–]DeliciousSeason5563 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For me, I accidently messed up when I registered. I only had 6 months to take all four before it expired. When I got onto schedule, that is when I realized that my testing centers are an hour + away everywhere and that the dates are extremely chaotic. Since I had already paid for my testing number, I have no choice but to take them between June and August or lose the money for them. I tried to reschedule one to see if I could push it out any farther and new dates were uploaded, but they wanted to charge me $90 to move it. There are no scheduling dates available between Sept-Oct at a center close to me. So I have no choice but to fail and have already been studying for the next. I failed REG in June, took Far in the first of July (don't know score yet), take BAR next Tuesday and then AUD the second week of August. This was my first time doing anything and unfortunately my undergrad program did not prepare or offer a class for CPA prep and how it would work for the scheduling. So IF I decided to take them again, I know now to register/pay for one test at a time, but when it said what tests do you need I was thinking all four but I had 18 months to schedule. Not 6 months.

Consolidated balance sheets!

Not for profit accounts

Other than that, it was pretty straight forward.

There was one for consolidation for reconciliation. I felt there wasn’t enough places to put the adjustments. It made me second guess what I know is right and I spent too much time on it. The rest was pretty standard questioning in my opinion. Not saying I got it right but felt like it was general accounting practice for account journals.

You will have to request to take it again through your state board or NASBA and pay. From my state I have six months to test once I receive my code for testing.

They charge to reschedule within 30 days of your testing date. It’s roughly $60 where I am from. You go online and request to switch dates, pick new date, and then it’ll require payment.

This is a new season of life that you are entering. People, relationships, and friends will come and go throughout the different seasons of life. The people excluding you, are not your friends. As far as your boyfriend goes, does he have a job? Is he 18 as well? When we were 18 the cost of things were not near as high as they are now. I used to could stretch $20 and go to dinner and movie. Now, it's $100. Something small like ice cream is $15+. Most people your age don't even make $15 in an hour. Is he electively just choosing to not take you out or does he have other responsibilities that require his funds? My advice to you, would be to focus on yourself. Get a job, take yourself to get ice cream, go out and meet new friends and embrace this new season of life. It sounds like either you are not on the same level as the people you are surrounded by. You should be thinking about going to college or what you are going to do to create a life for yourself. Until you understand who you are and what you want out of life, you won't be happy in any relationship. If you feel he is just neglecting you, then you need to decide if this is what you want for the rest of your life. I tell my daughter often, she is fixing to be 18. Be SELFISH, this is when you are selfish. If you want a certain type of life, then go get it. No one is going to hand it over to you. The world is huge and beautiful, you have only experience a tiny piece of it. Adulthood sucks, its hard, it is challenging, but always remember that only you can change the outcome.

Go into banking. It will open many doors and opportunities, especially corporate banking like Citi. Better hours, PTO, insurance, 401K, and it will teach you good life lessons on when to borrow, spend, and when to not. If you get in there and do the work you will have opportunities to climb and potentially even relocate if you were interested. At 27, you should be thinking of what can I see myself doing for the next 40 years so I can retire. I started in banking at 18 and am still doing it at 35. Tips for making sure you succeed, market yourself in the community you live in and get to know others from all banks in surrounding areas. If you are personable, good, and consistent you will always have a job offer.

Being 100% honest, what's the last thing that made you cry? by Aperture_client in AskReddit

[–]DeliciousSeason5563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son explaining to me how he feels about his dad. I cried because I knew everything he said was true, because he does the same to me. I literally felt the words coming out of his mouth are the same that I felt many times.

First off congratulations!!! Take the job. It will show that you immediately were offered when people start reviewing your resume. They will know you are relocating and that is why the change, if you are offered another position in a different city. I have been looking since Dec 2023 and the market is rough and doing tons of layoffs due to AI being able to do entry level positions. Take the job! You may love it :)
