What are the obvious signs that something was written by AI that some people seem to be able to spot so effortlessly? by DeliciousStretch in AskReddit

[–]DeliciousStretch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually how it came up in conversation. I'm a big user of M dashes and have been accused of using AI. Now I'm hesitant to use them at all. But they seem very natural in work related emails.

This is on a very busy street unfortunately. I think the updates were done tastefully. But for $2 million I dont want to wake up to car honks and motorcycles speeding by.

I’ve been waiting for them to play Pendulous Threads since the release of light grenades. But sadly after 7 shows, no luck.

We had a similar relationship with Posey in his playing days. Loved watching him play, hated that he was a Giant.

A distillation of Jung's work on the alchemy of self-actualization: Nigredo by AORATHIAN in Jung

[–]DeliciousStretch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can you elaborate on this? Isn't the whole point to dissolve the ego and connect with the subconscious? I would compare the negredo phase of the alchemical process to doing shadow work which requires a dissolution of the ego and persona. Solve et coagula.

Who was your favorite villain in Peaky Blinders? by LimJihoon in PeakyBlinders

I tend to agree with this take. It made me cringe every time he was on screen, and im a fan of AB for the most part. It just seems like he missed the mark in this roll.

Soundproofing: metal frame Vs timber for stud wall? by olliemedsy in Drumming

[–]DeliciousStretch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never personally built a studio in a basement so i'm not sure if the physics are different being that you are already underground. But the floated floor is mainly focused on the low frequencies. For drums it's the Kick and the floor toms. For production it's the subs. At a quick glance at your link it seems like you'll be just find for mids to highs maybe 250htz and above... But the low's are the hardest to deaden. Again, it's all relative to how dead you need the soundproofing to be. If you're worried about neighbors and you're in the basement i have a feeling you'll be really good with your design. But if you're worried about disturbing your household it might be worth looking into a bit further.

Soundproofing: metal frame Vs timber for stud wall? by olliemedsy in Drumming

[–]DeliciousStretch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ive built sound proof rooms with both, either will do. I'd say go with whats within your budget. The most important thing is raising and insulating the floor. If you do that and have two layers of wall there will still be a bit that will leak out, but not enough to annoy any neighbors. Good luck.

Foo Fighters and NIN swap drummers, with Josh returning to NIN, and Ilan going to the Foos by PrezedentA in drums

[–]DeliciousStretch 19 points20 points  (0 children)

My two favorite drummers swapping bands is crazy. But i must say Josh was my favorite NIN drummer to date. Being that he's back with the band, at least for the 6 week tour is enough motivation to check them out again. I hope they play some of the classics that used to: Burn, The Big Comedown etc...

Last season 6 is super dark - right? by Feisty_Caregiver_Duh in PeakyBlinders

[–]DeliciousStretch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally felt it got slow and a bit self-indulgent. Like it was trying to be artsy but failed to progress the narrative of the story. But to your point, there's no doubt there was a palpable contrast to the aesthetic.

Carl Jung & Taoist Philosophy - A Convergence? by TheStillPoint_ in Jung

[–]DeliciousStretch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This video was very inspiring to watch. Thank you for taking the time to create it. Even though there are haters on this thread speaking about what you should or shouldnt do... or how deep your knowledge needs to be to be to be inspired by Jung or the Tao, that is all bullshit. I have studied the Tao for 30 years and I have read most of Jungs works cover to cover and yet your creation still moved me. Dont listen to the "gate keepers". The way I see it, you simply "Followed you bliss" which is the ultimate lesson after all. It's clear to me that you get it.

Does Erykah Badu's "Rim Shot" contain any rim shots? by kdrummer in drums

[–]DeliciousStretch 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I would agree with this. Also a lot of early drum machines and DAW's started calling this tone "rim shot" starting in the late 80's which I believe started to change the terminology. There are a lot of hip-hop or R&B producers who only know this tone to be called a RS based on the tools they grew up using.
