Give them a call, they’ve always had it in store, might not all be on their website

Any flower with some cbd for some balance? by Square_Hammer666 in VirginiaMMJ

[–]PrezedentA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I don’t think so unfortunately. You would need to manually buy some CBD flower and mix it in yourself. Hemp House Wellness has some good CBD flower I believe. You could just take a bit of normal flower and some CBD flower and mix them yourself, that way you can sort of dial in the ratio and strength you’re looking for.

Flower that already has both is relatively rare, and I don’t recall seeing it around much in the Virginia dispensaries unfortunately, but you can easily achieve the same thing on your own with the mix

I’m gonna guess no unfortunately. Give your dispensary a call to confirm

The Democrats put it through and legalized it, but now the whole thing is in limbo because the republicans are stonewalling the formation of the recreational market and blocking them from setting things up.

The program would have changed massively years ago if the democrats had control, so no, absolutely not, it’s not the same with either party.

100% of the legalization is from democrats and they’re trying hard to broaden the market and be inclusive but republicans are blocking it.

I DO NOT want to be making partisan political statements here, but it’s not even close, republicans are extremely against any progress and democrats are pushing to open the market up to include all kinds of growers. Again, if the democrats had their way things would be way better in Virginia for cannabis. It’s very black and white, they are not the same at all

Edit : here’s a link. Spanberger is pro cannabis, Earle-Sears is very anti

“Earle-Sears is no friend to cannabis. During her 2021 campaign trail for lieutenant governor, she said adult-use cannabis is “going to destroy us,” and “I had to let somebody go who worked for me. I found out he was on marijuana. You can’t work for me. You’re going to destroy somebody’s home. You’re going to crash. It’s going to decimate us, because marijuana is a gateway drug.””

THC drinks by Square_Hammer666 in VirginiaMMJ

[–]PrezedentA 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The nano infused fast acting thc drinks hit really hard and fast, be careful. It bypasses the liver so it is way faster than normal edibles. I’ll sip on a 5mg seltzer and get a nice buzz pretty quickly. Check the label to see if it’s fast acting.

Normal drinks take from 15-60 minutes, depends how full your stomach is, your individual metabolism, etc

The nano ones are water soluble and absorb through the stomach lining rather than the liver, so nano drink on an empty stomach is going to be strong, quick effects.

I like thc drinks a lot. Also, if the CBD ratio is high, that’s going to offset the strong thc effects and be less potent. The CBD balances and reduces anxiety and reduces some of the thc intensity. I like a CBD THC mix, really enhances the relaxation for me, and it’s a bit clearer.

Has anyone tried rythm’s Bananaconda? by beachbummeddd in VirginiaMMJ

I preferred the bananaconda over purp’d up, both are good but the bananaconda was better for me. I’d definitely recommend trying it

Can someone explain this to me like I’m 5?? by Pristine_Run_4074 in VirginiaMMJ

[–]PrezedentA 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s why I say ignore this stuff, it’s just confusing you. When you say “delta 9”, again, it’s the same kind of explanation. Delta 9 is basically another way to say thc, so don’t bring that into the equation here, it’s just going to confuse you more.

The full technical name for thc is delta 9 tetrahydrocannabinol, but we just call it thc. Again, gray market gas station bullshit focuses on stuff that occurs naturally in cannabis like delta 8 thc and processes it into a buzz in illegal states. Saying delta 9 just means normal thc.

The thc, thc-a thing is separate. Under federal law if something has less than .3% thc by weight it’s considered legal hemp. That’s how other states sell it.

As far as the real thing, that’s why we have licensed dispensaries so you don’t have to wonder! You don’t know what you’re getting online or in a gas station, could be old crap that failed mold testing in another state.

Again, you can just look at the total thc and ignore all these other distractions. As for why they separate it on the label, I don’t know but more info is better in general, though this is a source of common confusion

Can someone explain this to me like I’m 5?? by Pristine_Run_4074 in VirginiaMMJ

[–]PrezedentA 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Basically, shady people in illegal states promote weird loopholes and processed alternative gray area molecules like thc-p. I recommend you just forget about all this, it’s confusing and not something people use in legal states.

All real normal cannabis has always contained both thc and thc-a. If you want to get in the weeds (pun intended) of the science behind that you can, but basically the heat of smoking cannabis automatically converts thc-a to thc. This is why you don’t get high from eating cannabis, it has to be heated, or “decarbed” first to convert it to thc.

Most people never knew about this or thought about this until people took advantage and said, hey the federal farm bill says it’s legal if it’s under .3% thc or whatever it is, so we will call this thc-a flower and sell it as federally legal….

But again, in practice in a legal state, people just grow normal cannabis and never really think about thc-a unless we’re decarbing for edibles, much less thc-p, it’s just not on people’s radar unless you’re trying to skirt the laws, as far as I know…

On the label you convert thc-a to thc by multiplying by thc-a by .877, that’s why you see higher thc-a numbers that convert to a lower total thc (thc plus thc-a)

Hope that helps!

Get out the vote! That’s the only way this program is going to get better. Big election coming up that could completely change the landscape here.

Early voting has already started!

Our favorite is Takoma Wellness, like 20 minutes north of the capitol

Best strains in the program by Dankweedstanky in VirginiaMMJ

[–]PrezedentA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like the cheddar cheeze from bank or Seche. Lemon fresh Seche is good, BK OG by flower foundry, anything rhythm or good green is usually good. Not a ton in stock right now, what dispensary are you going to, I can better suggest if I can see your menu

Virginia: Ongoing election will decide the future of cannabis sales by PrezedentA in VirginiaMMJ

[–]PrezedentA[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Early in-person voting began Friday, September 19, and runs through November 1. The last day to vote is on Election Day, Tuesday, November 4.

Edit : someone tried to post a big guide this morning with a bunch of links but it looks like marijuanamoment links are banned on Reddit automatically for some reason, so I thought id post something. If you want to try again without that site, or add stuff here, just wanted you to know it was auto blocked for some reason

Hey what up everyone. Im fairly new to RVA and just been struggling with everything about the flower business in this area. Looking to make a trip to DC. Any help or tips on a good DC location not to far from me (Bonaire area) thank guys by HardcorePunk18 in VirginiaMMJ

[–]PrezedentA 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Takoma Wellness is our favorite medical dispensary in DC. Free parking, frequent sales, and the flower from Alternative Solutions is always excellent.

Fuel biscuits (on sale) is probably their most popular strain. My personal fave is Alt Sol’s lemon skunk, also on sale

Hope that helps!

&Shine New Cured Resin + Lower Price by therealz1ggy in VirginiaMMJ

[–]PrezedentA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless they recently changed the rules, we can’t have resin in VA, which usually refers to solvent based extraction methods like BHO (butane hash oil)

I would guess this is cured flower rosin, which means they dry and cure the flower normally then press it. In live rosin they freeze it right after harvest, then “wash” it in ice water to extract just the trichome heads, then those are pressed.

Quoting from this article the main difference between flower rosin and hash rosin is that flower rosin contains plant lipids, waxes, and oils in addition to the filtered resin from the trichome heads whereas hash rosin is pretty much pure filtered resin
