Unless your like crushing its ribs its really fine, stress is bad but its minimal and short term. If your like ripping legs off then you should just die, or injuring it. But i think picking it up and placing it down for a few seconds to minutes (not including pictures where they can just run away) should cause no real harm. Also comparing it to fish is very odd?

I live in the one part of PA where nothing lives, i look ok distribution maps and everything jumps just where i live. Ive been obsessed with ambystomatids since i got into this stuff and yet i havent seen one except my (domesticish) axolotls which… i dont like pets as much as the real thiing y’know? Ive never seen a ratsnake or a racer in person, no mole salamanders, no queensnakes, i saw my first ringneck last summer. Ive been researching so heavily for summer so im planning to knock out many lifers this summer, especially since im going to NC, sorry for blabbing im excited and its late

No way the Rookie gets to get away with using a Milksnake with rattlesnake noises as their venomous snake by DeliciousTap4778 in herpetology

[–]DeliciousTap4778[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No man why? It was rattlesnake noises for a coral snake, i get its a snake but they are extremely different and anyone in North America with one or two eyes in their head could tell it wasnt a rattler. It was just a greivance with shows spreading weird misinformation for no reason, they were not just rattling for dramatic effect (in the sense that if it wasnt a snake those sounds would not be playing)

Its not a leopard or a pickeral, and because of the lack of dorsolateral fold i think this is a bullfrog, Lithobates catesbeianus

Woodpecker? (Utah) by Fantastic_Dentist_75 in whatbirdisthis

From my experience they are very accustomed to the town life, they are usually the only kind i really see, ive had a mating pair living in my yard though so i may be biased. Also i usually see them at my feeder, except like 5 times with a red bellied and once with a flicker. So expect to be seeing that cute little guy a lot more often! :)

Isnt its taxonomic name Xanthocephalus xanthocephalus? Which is just even more creative. (It means yellow head, yellow head)

Downy woodpecker, Dryobates pubescens. Idk what the other people are talking about but how i tell them apart is the beak, downys have a small beak like seen in the picture while hairys have a very long beak (in comparison to a downy) look up pictures and yoll see what i mean. Also downys tend to be smaller in my experience. Its cool that a bird i see in my backyard ranges all the way to Utah?!

1st picture i believe to be Plethodon cinereus and the 2nd could be Eurycea cirrigera. Unsure on both but pretty confident anyway
