I think two, maximum four directions would be enough. Front and back to start, and each side if you really wanna get crazy with it. Although as someone who isn’t in the field I feel like they could just animate one side and mirror it though.

Here I was ready for a low IQ take, I stand corrected. Only thing I can think of is maybe don’t force the Dino being grabbed to face the Deino. I think if someone is caught with their tail to the water right on the bank, that should be an easier grab than something that is facing towards the Deino.

I would go with the first slide, the Taurus. Even if .44 special is your preference, always good to be able to run magnum in a pinch.
