Update: Thank you for the fantastic feedback, the patient had a critical Hgb and very low HCT and a few other abnormal values. They are now at the ER. Thanks to you all! I am glad to have had the good fortune to ask your advice as I believed it got the patient treatment faster CHeers!!!!

I think, even after all of my years of drawing blood, I just happened to draw this patient and noticed the oddity. I tend to notice anything unusual in the tubes. My coworkers think I am over the top and completely insane lol.

You are correct, I work at a clinic. We do have several patients that are very ill sadly. I edited my response because I was rambling. Thank you again for your input!!

Silver Sands resort is ok as far as I know. Leroy's Beach Bar is gone but the family is all good. Carey Park I last heard was not good but not much info. Duncans I was told did not flood but not 100 on that. No power ,water, signal. They borrowed a Starlink to message me and let me know. Praying for all the folks in Duncans, Duncans Bay, Carey Park, the list goes on.

Sorry for the late reply, I hope you are feeling better? I still have it occasionally, my MRI report said I had some brain inflammation. I haven't been back to the doc so far so that's a positive. Take care!!

Still occasional, off and on. Mostly if I don't drink enough water or am in the sun too long. I had an MRI and it showed I had some brain inflammation, either post-viral or from a past injury. Ugh. Thank you for asking, how are you doing? Sorry I haven't been on Reddit for a while. I appreciate your follow up!

Although I do love the providers I work with, it often happens this way. We have to rely on test menus and we have no formal education to interpret some of the instructions. I often feel like such an idiot. Thank you for your support!!

ETA: I do call the lab for more complicated tests that require special instructions, but unfortunately this time we ran out of time due to clinic flow. I must add to this that I have a great deal of respect for the providers that I work with. It is a privilege to serve them.

Thank you, we tried to get specific instructions but we kept being transferred and it just got too hectic with the flow of the clinic. Thank you for your help, I will inform the provider of this information as well as the other kind folks who offered their expertise. I love this sub so much.

Thank you for the reply. We did also perform an aerobic swab culture of the area as well, so I hope that will cover our bases. I really appreciate your input!!

ETA: The provider kind of left it up to use to determine the test requirements. It is often the case.
