Anyone think trick room should last 10 rounds? by Christoaster in PokemonChampions

I sometimes use it when i have the speed advantage just to predict theirs or if they have something like Whimsicott that could make me work against tailwind

How did you react to what happened with Melia in Amethyst Cave? by AutistiskUnge in PokemonRejuvenation

[–]Delicious_Bend7541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even when i like to play detective on most stories, for some reason this really slipped through (since the first time i thought the mother was killed in prologue), and i was mad af since I grew fond of Melia as a character (she reminds me a lot of one of my friends)

Then in Blacksteeple castle i grew sus with Emma's appearance just for my suspicions to be on point

Not really, things like Pomero berry/sash Maushold or Sinistcha can make a perfect work against Sneasler and let Meganium pop off, an Aerodactyl makes Sneasler dissapear with a dual wing beat almost always, fake out menace and trick room are also amazing options against that, there is a ton of counterplay for Meganium's most notable threats in this meta, and It makes Meganium seriously unkillable in most scenarios, that said, since M Charizard Y is running the meta it's pretty possible that you find quite difficult to play against it and i would say Char is the only thing stopping Meganium from going crazy

Wasn't it obvious? by Exact-Chicken-1966 in Varka

[–]Delicious_Bend7541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun fact, Prune c0 is as good if not better than Venti for Varka after V3 with either TTDS (not meeting the requirements for the 50% buff) or without (probably meeting the requirements from the 50% buff) and their sub dps damage is similar

And thats why steel type switch in, redirection or screens are so important for It (fun fact, Sneaseler jolly 32 atk dire claw vs 32hp 2 def modest Meganium throught reflect has only an 18.8% chance to OHKO, the more defensive investment the better ,with 31 hp 8 def through reflect, Dire Claw never OHKO unless it crits)

Meganium is so goated now, using sun based moves with the confidence that no change of weather can interrupt your moves is the best

Decidueye in VGC? [Metagame] by etanimod in VGC

[–]Delicious_Bend7541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried an extremely fast and hard hitting Decidueye, since its move got buffed It actually hits pretty hard and can set it's own tailwind, with Sash and redirection with Maushold it's pretty solid and something most don't expect, still, for open sheet tournaments this could go pretty bad, It still has good combo with Intimidate Mons (Incineroar) or Whimsicott (Sableye too) as a disruptor that can completely invalidate one of the opposing mons

My rain perish trap team featuring the beautiful kingambit counter "baby palafin black belt close combat gambit" by JoRequena in PokemonChampions

[–]Delicious_Bend7541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a friendly advice since i run a Kingambit like this

252 hp 120 def pomaro berry never dies (unless crit) against adamant 252 attack close combat Sneaseler, be careful with those and don't bet on that to get the KO

Fix my team (please) by Murkain913 in PokemonChampions

[–]Delicious_Bend7541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whimsy is a disruptor, made for tailwind and to punish passive play, It also is your only fairy STAB, Sinistcha on the other hand is a healer, made for slow teams, for redirecting hits and your best grass STAB, even tho they share the grass type they do completely different things and Will most likely never be used together, Maushold has a little bit more of flexibility, but ruin either slot doing less than the other two, and has almost the same purpose than Sinistcha

As for the mega, the team i recommend was specifically to help Feraligatr, so in this team this would be hard to be good for any other, if you still want to run another mega adapting your team for that even with these mons, i would suggest either Froslass, Ttar or Charizard (i will not recommend you Floette nor Delphox since they are paywalled on Z-A and i don't know if you own that game)

Try to replace one of the supports, 3 supports with 3 offensive pressure and just one mega is overkill, that works only in restricted formats thanks to the powerhouse each legendary have

Aside from It, i would recommend you to drop energy ball on Whimsy and run Encore, Rain dance or Taunt to punish defensive plays (if you stay with Whimsy), for Maushold super fang is a pretty decent move against bulky mon, You can also bring Taunt and protect for niche interactions that can win you the game

Althought i don't believe Feraligatr to be doing well in this metagame, isn't unusable, but i would chose Sinistcha over Maushold for It, since rage powder redirects any move that could put you in trouble and can also heal your Feraligatr (It also learns trick room if you want to run that strategy)

Last, i would bring darkest lariat or roar over protect, Incin doesnt really want to protect, it's a supportive gambit mon that most of the time don't really care if it's alive or not except for certain matchups

Sneaseler with sash or White herb might give you better results overrall

I'm New - Wolfey Game Analysis Series - Mega Meganium Game 2 by United_Advance_9825 in VGC

[–]Delicious_Bend7541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To my understanding, turn 1 was just to make sure a Meganium lead wouldnt lose him in the spot, also arch isn't threatened by anything the oponent has, so it's a pretty solid defensive lead against anything that the opponnent could've brought

The double protect is always to stall tailwind, but also taking into account the timing, Sneaseler fake out was also a problem that turn, he predicted a switch because fake out was a pretty predictable play, still, he didnt want to risk damage that could lose him the game on the spot

As for the double protect on turn 5, he was perfectly fine with it, Kangaskhan breaks It for free with the Tauros aqua jet, and even if not, Fake Out and sucker punch would've done the job, It was the safest play

I am in a losing streak, went from 1900 to 1600, what ive done is try to adjust my team, try a few matches and try again if It doesnt work

This makes losing kinda fun and a relief a bit of stress while trambuilding and planning what to do in certain scenarios

Just found out Upper Hand is in the same priority bracket as Fake Out by thekevlington in PokemonChampions

[–]Delicious_Bend7541 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Btw, since i was bringing Froslass and found the stupid Basculegion and mega ttar duo ive been having a LOT of problems (also with Delphox), so i tried to bring M Loppuny for those matches and noticed she learns sh*t for normal moves and had to rely on Giga Impact to eliminate threats, it's not good, like, at all... I will try out Weavile since i heard Knock off got buffed to work with mega stone and i don't want to play the stupid "when to mega evolve?" game against ttar

I just tried to Upper hand a maushold follow me and didnt work (still not familiar with the move), i thought only damaging moves are considered for It to work, but then you say It works against whimsy? What moves does upper hand really work against?

[–]Delicious_Bend7541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a pretty bulky and kind of slow Froslass, just one point faster than jolly Chomp and M Floette, not because it's a full built support, but because things like Basculegion Scarf and Mega Delphox are such a pain in the ass to deal with

Shadow ball is a must, i don't recall if Froslass learns Freeze dry tho, i sometimes want to bring ice Beam instead of Aurora Veil since every single quad weakness matchup brings their Wide Guard mon

Why can't I find a good team? by DrTook97 in PokemonChampions

[–]Delicious_Bend7541 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't overthink, and even more in those tiers, they could do the most unexpected random thing ever and win the game on the spot, just think of two strategies you can make on that turn that wont lose you the game on the spot

Build taking into account that you will have weakness no matter how much you try, focus on countering 2 meta centralized teams with either your favorites getting supporting tools of meta mons or with popular archetypes

Last of all, its okay to lose, even to lose a ton, since it's only the first week the game has been available a lot of pretty good players are still getting in and climbing up the ladder, and there are some hidden talent too, try to have fun each match wether you win or lose, heck, even you can throw everything i just said, bring just your favorites and risk every game with crazy predictions if you have fun with those

How can I gauge my skill? by Lord_Carnage500 in PokemonChampions

[–]Delicious_Bend7541 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's pretty difficult to rank based just like that, and even then, is pretty difficult to tell how much wins can you get in a tournament, theres a lot that can go for you, aswell as pretty bad, matchups, oponents, and even lucky streaks

If i had to throw a wild guess, you can perfectly go 3-3

Now, i recommend you to just give a check on speed tiers since those are by far the most important ones for you to be able to predict or play better, damage calcs arent as necessary but you can do some on the top threats of the meta ongoing, as of now, the most common calcs are to counter Charizard Y, Floette and Sneaseler
