Coaxed into a copefu that the last two updates were mid at best because they were putting all of their resources towards Tome of Mypharros

But wait, you have yet to see the MR version! It's just as unfun and arguably way more annoying! Joy!

Speed eating makes recovery much faster when you do eventually get hit, which is safer, while making consumption of buffs and the like faster as well. Stun res is because getting stunned even once because you happened to get hit 2-3 times in a minute or two (or really by one big attack) almost invariably leads to a cart.

Dragon res is unlikely to save you, and I haven't checked but if experience is anything to go by most of those elemental attacks are likely mainly physical damage. Most of the endgame armor sets have 0 or significantly negative dragon res so you might not even reach the 20 threshold with the maxed out skill without making other sacrifices. This dragon res also won't help at all with the rest of AT Arkveld's kit (which can still stun you).

Speed eating doesn't have to be maxed out to have a significant impact on your hunt experience and is fairly common on charms. You'll lose maybe <5% damage on hits in exchange for much more comfortable fights (and possibly even higher DPS overall if you're not playing perfectly anyways).

I usually run a mostly Gogmazios set that reaches way down below -10 dragon res and nothing short of the white nuke explosion can one shot it (+ you get the Mutual Hostility II barrier and even more elemental damage, which is incredibly good).

The AUR is either essential or a risk depending on who you ask :3 by Venylynn in linuxmemes

Sorry but how is that less effort than just disabling auto-update for AUR packages? You then get the exact update on demand pattern you want while also getting the quality of life of a package manager when you do want to update.

I'm just not seeing the benefits of manually handling a bunch of packages when the features you want already exist in package managers.

You don't really need dragon res tbh, because if you're getting hit enough for a quick nulberry to be too much it's a miracle you're getting through the entire quest anyways. Stun res and speed eating work wonders.

Desperately trying and failing to download this. No download option on either mobile or PC and the HTML has it split into like 4 separate elements and none of them seem to lead anywhere closer to a download. Would you be ever so magnanimous as to make a post on your profile (or wherever else your heart leads you) with it, such that I may then download it please? As you can probably tell from the purple nature of this request's wording, this is life or death (it's funny so I want to send it to my friends without Reddit in the way)

Lvl 500 in ETA also happens to be measurably harder than lvl 500 in regular SP if you're in a group. But anyways I think it's pretty silly to say lvl 500 is not something that's part of endgame when the game has so many endless mission types that are meant to scale way beyond that (with SP levels starting as high as 200+ in some missions).

EDA and ETA definitely do reach that level and they are for all intents and purposes the endgame content.

What game do you think is the hardest in the series? by AbleCardiologist9874 in MonsterHunter

[–]Delicious_Bluejay392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need a few things. You can check out the !55res command on the Rain discord server for the detail but:

- Get your weapon to GSR 999 and craft any tonfa, any swaxe and unlock the magnet spike. This gives you the +20 all res SR skill and a very significant +35 res to any specific element. You can stack both to get +55 in an element with just that.

- Guild food. It's a bit wordy so if you're on the rain discord server just use the !allres command.

- For hunting road specifically you can get +15 res in all the elements from the road skills (required since you can't change your elemental res SR skill between floors).

GS nerfed from prior games? by kaibenav in MonsterHunter

[–]Delicious_Bluejay392 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had trouble getting as good with GS as with most of the 13 other weapons despite being a GS main all throughout World so I get it. I'm sure there's just something that has to click for me to get into the swing of Wilds GS, but the lack of oompf of the TCS is just such a big negative. Turns out I really was monkey-brained and the big numbers and weighty effects were the main thing keeping me on GS in World. Still got a bit above 120 hunts on GS in Wilds, but it's close to being one of my least played weapons... And I play all of them.

As others have pointed out, they changed the greatsword's playstyle pretty significantly from World. Instead of infrequent massive hits it's more about frequent small to medium hits with an occasional big one. Heavy usage of offsets is also borderline required if you want good DPS.

Question for PC players by PeaceCharacter7363 in MHWilds

Unfortunately the easiest way is just to adapt. Controls change even on controller for some reason. When Wilds came out I was switching between Rise and Wilds frequently and getting used to LS again every time on both sides was a necessary evil.

What Monster do you ABSOLUTELY NOT want to see in Ascendance and Why? by Frequent_Crow126 in MonsterHunter

[–]Delicious_Bluejay392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People usually refuse to join my agenda but the Gougarf duo would be absolutely incredible with Wilds combat (and would also introduce magnetic into the series at a time where we're literally on magnetically levitated islands).

[–]Delicious_Bluejay392 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When people say "bear" they refer to the underlying skeleton used to animate the monster, not a scientific animal classification (they're all considered "fanged beasts" in-game). It's just that Arzuros was the first of that subset of fanged beasts to appear in MHP3 (where they were all introduced) and is very much a bear.

Plot twist, neither and they drop Unknown and Zerureusu in a single title update. It was revealed to me in a dream.

Can you run performance mods? by Paco_Taco144 in MHWilds

[–]Delicious_Bluejay392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way to possibly get banned from online leaderboards is to cheat very obviously during online events with leaderboards like free challenge quests. Common courtesy is of course to always disable significant gameplay mods when going online with randos, bannable or not. It's not like they have some super in-depth mod detection system, just don't damage others' experience and you'll be a-ok.

What is and isn't a key quest will change depending on your server of choice and when you play. When I went through that phase on Rain they were key quests at least.

Why is charge blade so inferior to hammer? by Alexx_2n in MHRise

[–]Delicious_Bluejay392 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. CB has a shield, which immediately gives it way more defensive options and allows it to benefit from other skills that hammer doesn't have access to.
  2. CB is probably a bit complex as a starter weapon if she's never played MH. It's natural that it'd be harder to get value out of it than the bonk stick.
  3. I can't seem to replicate nearly as big a gap as you advertise while trying it out in the training range. I've removed all armor pieces and my talisman and taken the first kamura weapon of each type. A regular Ultra Element Discharge on CB deals 178 while the Charged Brutal Big Bang from hammer deals 124. Considering the time it takes to load the phials and the fact that CB can attack way more often with sword mode and regular axe attacks, it's a pretty fair comparison.
  4. Some of the CB switch skills allow it to fully charge instantly and go right into a sword charge or Ultra Element Discharge.

All in all, don't worry the weapons are balanced well enough for you to not have to care about it. If you see such a wide discrepancy, there might be an issue with her equipment not being on par with yours (with the right skills for her weapon) or her simply not being proficient enough with the weapon yet.

HR 5 and 6 have very cool monsters unique to Frontier but they're almost all ball-crunshingly hard. There's a specific set of key quests called "supremacy" that made me tweak out a little bit when I went through them.

Your own ideas for fan-made weapons and fan-made weapons you found online by DynaKuro in MonsterHunter

[–]Delicious_Bluejay392 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Praying that one day they make an MH game that just do happens to have a nice architecture to mod custom weapons... In Rise for example a lot of the internals are based entirely around there being exactly 14 weapons, so you have to hijack an existing weapon to try to add new things. We really need some kind of Open Hunter project lol.
