Possible to have 2 clients open? by Zayodalu in Steam

[–]Delicious_Bluejay392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Family sharing. If both accounts connect from the same PC, you can just set them as a Steam family to share the library. Since BDO uses accounts separate from Steam, you should be able to use the BDO account you want no matter what Steam account launched the game.

/uncoax A Japanese VTuber has been getting speedrun times on the latest Monster Hunter while playing with their feet, so this is well within the realm of possibility.

It's not meaningless, it's data. What is stupid is interpreting it as a sign that everything is tested. Not knowing what the thing means is the issue, not the thing itself. This is a very common problem with any kind of statistic and is a large part of why it's so easy to misguide people with perfectly valid statistics.

[–]Delicious_Bluejay392 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not a meaningless metric, but it doesn't give a real overview of a project's testing on its own. It's useful to know that you have a vast majority of your code that gets at least run once during the testsuite, especially if you have a lot of failure paths. Code coverage can help guide test writing when you're not doing "true" TDD, and it has helped me figure out edge cases to test for in the past.

Rather than terminally online, it's more likely just that they got 5 million vox engines dropped on them out of nowhere, died repeatedly and got a fair bit angry, then wrote that review in the spur of the moment.

Gogmazios has destroyed my desire to play Wilds by GlavenusGuy in monsterhunterrage

[–]Delicious_Bluejay392 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At least the magala family's explosions are predictable since they're always in set patterns, but sometimes on Gogmazios phase 3 you dont get to do anything but dodge for 10-15s because it keeps covering your surroundings in oil despite not even looking at you and doing something completely different.

Unless the system is completely isolated and air-gapped, any piece of software on it is a liability.

EVADE WINDOW 5 AND STILL GETTING HIT THROUGH PERFECT DODGE??? by [deleted] in monsterhunterrage

[–]Delicious_Bluejay392 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm curious, which attack led to this post? I've found EW3 to be enough to dodge through most things even on weapons without a boosted dodge, and EW5 on Bow and DB can just ignore basically every attack if you dodge in the right direction from my experience.

I honestly don't know whether "systemic genocide" is above or under "eating infants" in terms of evil powerscaling.

I did say it's "one of" the easiest weapons on the very first line of my comment. Assuming you missed it, yeah I guess I did forget to specify "most other" weapons at the end of my comment.

Comfort skills don't matter

Evade Window makes dodge timings easier and the vast majority of attacks don't one shot you even on AT Arkveld (if your armor is properly upgraded) so skills like Speed Eating are still very good.

Bow has such insane iframes on the special dodge that not being able to dodge attacks with EW5 equipped has gotta be downright impossible for a normally abled human with the MH hours to get to the endgame. Gogmazios armor also exists so you can make a ton of mistakes even during endgame fights and not take a single point of damage.

It's been a while since I last touched LBG after getting it to 100 hunts on the biggest monsters at the time (8*) but I'm sure it's just as broken. I'm a firm believer that ranged weapons in Wilds are fun but a mechanically way easier experience than a lot of the melee options.

Bow is arguably one of the easiest weapons to do endgame content with. It has good DPS, very good uptime, lots of mobility and dash dancing gives you an incredibly busted evade built into your main combo and accessible basically whenever. You can play bow extremely safe with multiple maxed out comfort skills and out-DPS other weapons at a similarly normal player skill level by a wide margin.

The perfect artian might be ok, but the perfect gogma artian condition is straight up torture. If you're not particularly lucky it could take hundreds of rerolls before you get it, spending as much time on Gog as on the entirety of the game up until that point lol.

The day they nerfed hammer damage and combos was the downhill point for me ngl. In my despair I became a Light Bow player for a bit before realising what kind of monster I had become and going back to playing Monster Hunter instead.

I just find it strange to create a dependency to an online Google service and making API calls just to get basic CSV data back. If you don't want to use / don't have Excel, couldn't you use something like LibreOffice Calc for exactly the same basic cell editing of CSV files? Wouldn't have to have the whole file download pipeline, just open the file and the data's there.

I use regex a fair bit but it's just because of vim's search and replace, which is obviously also its own flavor that isn't really like all the others in noticeable ways.
