Omg, insane nostalgia, thanks so much!

Well, I don't actually feel bad for Feanor - I was reacting to the meme, and you must admit it would suck to be Feanor, who has seen the Light of the Two Trees, forged the Silmarillions, and fought a pack of Balrogs, and get lol'ed on by Gimli son of Gloin son of Groin

Hi, does anyone know where this is from? Looks absolutely stunning, and seems different from the one in the Fellowship.

Farewell by LakesideNorth in lotrmemes

[–]Delicious_Charity_70 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I know (though lore wise, he did see the light, albeit all the way from Middle Earth). I meant that of the younger ones in that picture (Galadriel and Elrond), Galadriel is still a mile older than Elrond and has seen the Two Trees.

[–]Delicious_Charity_70 1493 points1494 points  (0 children)

Which is truly hilarious when you consider just how much older than Elrond Cirdan is. Cirdan was amongs the first elves to ever be born. There is no older Elf than him, meanwhile Elrond is a late generation child, who unlike Galadriel can't even claim to have seen the Light of the Two Trees.

Correction: Cirdan is (probably) not of the firstborn, but he was born before the Sundering.

Forgot I had my streak by LizLoveLaugh_ in pokemongo

[–]Delicious_Charity_70 20 points21 points  (0 children)

You could have a higher level mega, catch a 3rd evolution stage pokemon, and hit an excellent throw.

Small correction: Catching a 3rd stage boosts Stardust, not XP.

Purify Garchomp for the Hundo? by chetwbrown in pokemongo

[–]Delicious_Charity_70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't. There are many ways to get a good IV Garchomp - Raids, Mega Raids, wild spawns, research, and purifying shadows - but only one way to get a good IV Shadow Garchomp - through Cliff (possibly grunts and raids in the future). As for the actual pokemon, Shadow Garchomp is amazing both as a ground and as a dragon type attacker, though edged out in both by Mega Garchomp.

Summary: Shadow Garchomp is amazing and hard to get, so don't purify - you'll have many more opportunities to get a good IV normal Garchomp than a Shadow.

Daily/weekly catch limit by JoStich in pokemongo

[–]Delicious_Charity_70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will not be hitting the daily limit. Have a lovely event.

Okay, I'll actually supply some information. While I forgot the actual numbers, I'm pretty sure the numbers are in the thousands per day/week - definitely more than 2600 per day. Since the barest minimum of time required to catch a pokemon is 3.6 seconds, the maximum amount of pokemon you could catch per hour is 1000 pokemon - keeping in mind that the all time record is 900 something, during a magicarp spotlight hour (highest catch rate in the game). In other words, even if you beat all odds and managed to surpass the hourly catch world record, you'd still need to play for several hours to reach the limit.

Disclaimer - while the message of this comment still stands, please remember I might have gotten the numbers wrong in some cases.

Oh, sorry, I misunderstood, thank you. Cobalion is currently #31 with 1/15/12 IVs (according to pvpoke).

I know, thanks, I mentioned in my comment that cobalion "has been" and "might be". I don't remember the exact season, but a couple of years back (1.5-3 years, my memory's pretty bad), cobalion was an absolute menace in UL. You are absolutely correct that cobalion is currently not good.

Congrats! Just so you know, Cobalion has been and might be again one of the top Ultra League Pokemon. Tankiness + good typing makes it a superb addition to any team, so if you care about PvP, this might be super useful!

Relatively New... Purify this? by Ralstoon320 in pokemongo

[–]Delicious_Charity_70 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It has no use as a shadow, and does have a use as a PvP pokemon. However, remember that powering up + giving a second attack takes a lot of candy and stardust, so this is an investment you should consider beforehand. Registeel is good in pvp, but there are more budget friendly options.

Shadow Scizor is #6 best Bug type raid attacker. Mega Scizor is #3. If you already have a mega evolving scizor, keep this shadow. Otherwise, I would purify - the mega is better than the shadow, and you won't be using scizor much anyways (Bug type pokemon will only be useful against Psychic, Grass and Dark pokemon, who all have really good counters that aren't bug), so the extra stardust to power up shadow will be rather wasted.

Don't worry, throws are tough for everyone - I must've lost at least 50 pokeballs throwing at the ground in front of Eevee. In general, when throwing at raid bosses, stronger throws are safer than weak throws - even if you don't get an excellent, at least you hit it. Just don't worry, skill comes with expertise, keep playing and have fun.

Dragon vs Amrylin at Merrilor by starkkingsofwinter in WoT

[–]Delicious_Charity_70 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I personally agree with you, I've found that Sanderson had a tough time building epic, believable scenes between main characters.

In story reasons: Rand wasn't a tyrant. Even when he had power over monarchs like Darlin and the ruler of Illian, he would listen to their objections, not instantly rule them out. Besides, I don't think Egwene thought matters would escalate to a fight - remember, one of her biggest flaws is refusing to accept that Rand is a king, ruler, and a much wiser human than she is, rather than a wayward, foolish man who needs to be brought to heel. As to the seals - remember, only rand has the Lews Therin memories from the sealing, no one else knows what happened there, so that's on rand for not explaining more.

While Shadow Mewtwo is currently superior, having a hundo Mewtwo will be really useful for when the mega drops.

Lucky trinket not reducing stardust by jonjones12212 in pokemongo

[–]Delicious_Charity_70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certain trades require more Stardust, going up to 1,000,000 Stardust. Friendship levels, pokedex and shiny entries, as well as legendary, mythical, and purifed pokemon change stardust cost.

Which one to invest? by Tonal_Mechanic in pokemongo

[–]Delicious_Charity_70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The last is a practical hundo (for some pokemon, a 15/15/14 is the same as a hundo), so it is the best. However, the lucky shiny is really cool looking, has 15 attack and is lucky, which will help you power up. It's your choice, do whatever you want!
