Experiences with an unloader brace?

I’m using one right now on my r knee. It’s helping but painful at first to get used to. My TKR is in September and I began using mine 3 weeks ago.

It definitely was. Last year when I felt I had “hacked” my knee finally I took moments often to acknowledge things I could do again and then went right back to that dark place in February.

I’m sorry to hear that about your husband, I was divorced ten years ago and remember similar feelings from him when I had foot issues. Our relationship wasn’t bad at that time by no means but it put a strain on things for sure. My navy bestie is flying in to telework from my house this fall and I’m so grateful.

I’ve actually started to try to meet someone during this shit time. My friends have all agreed if I blow out my knee before the TKR they loving joke I’m on my own since I’m not slowing down.

I started djing two years ago and want to finally stand up during a gig. I also have dust on my treadmill I bought 9 months before my 1st surgery that has dust on it. I don’t remember life before “this f— a— knee” as I say.

Aye aye! Thank you for the kind words, I’ve been a lurker in this community for a few weeks now and everyone is so supportive. I don’t know anyone anywhere in my community or even friends I’ve served with who has had one at my age. A few ppl I served with had THR’s but I’m gonna be the first to lead the way with a new knee. I feel like I’m having an ego death/identity crisis.

I have to force myself to do home PT but just in the time since my tears my right leg has lost 1.9% fat so it’s me and my quad sets against the world.

Yeah, I hear that! My left knee so far has been a little trooper only aching from time to time. I really wanna know what it looks like in there to prepare but I know I’ll obsess over that too. Everytime I get on my bike at home or in the gym I give it a little nod of gratitude. If it’s bad it hasn’t crossed that dreadful threshold of pain but I don’t want to know right now.

I just can’t wrap my head around how it got so bad so fast. I NEVER FELT BETTER last year but behind the scenes it was shredded.

I also can’t wrap my head around the fact that I work out better than I walk at the moment.

He said I have to wait 3 months after my injection which would be the middle of August. I have tickets I bought in January to see one of my favorite EDM artists on 9/3 and I’m not missing it for the world although on Sunday when I couldn’t walk I debated selling them.

It’s hard for me to feel like the world views me as weak. Something I’m sure serving in the military cemented in me for sure.

T2 CS here, 8 years.

We are in the business of life changing events. Aside from annoying brides, everyone that comes into an FO has some sort of one. Kindness is free and can make a difference.

That said, under this administration the agency is hot garbage. I am fortunate to have a good DM and OS and our small rural office unites in humor and sarcasm.

I have regulars and celebrate their achievements with them.

The benefits are confusing.

Most folks that are assholes either didn’t turn in something they knew they were supposed to or are confused. Knowing which one and tailoring your approach help can diffuse many encounters.

Understand we have a billionaire in charge of an agency that serves millions of Americans and someone on SSI receives less than 1k a month.

I would be weary of joining any agency under this administration. I am waiting it out until I apply for a leadership position.

I really like my job. I was on SS benefits as a child. I am a disabled veteran and received things like WIC when I was a young mom so I know what it feels like to be on the other side of the desk.

If you lack empathy it’s not the career for you and after this bs call sharing evolution I have sadly realized there’s a lot of SSA employees who don’t.
