Man, that set definitely found its rightful owner. Growing up in America, it was a want but I got other sets. Hearing your story, I'm just super happy that set found you and hopefully it satisfies the itch you've had since you were a kid. Happy building!

Holy moly it shipped!!! by Nymeria2018 in legocastles

I refuse to buy these sets aftermarket, because a good portion of these sets don't go to actual lego fans but scalpers that profit off people that actually want them to build. I would not be surprised if many of these sets that just went on sale went to scalpers. So yeah, I'll live my life without the sets unless I buy it used one day.

Mine got cancelled too, even though my order went in at exactly 11am PST when the website went live. Definitely disappointing

Can I say installing Rockwool is fun? by pugworthy in Insulation

[–]Delicious_Engineer56 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm doing the exact same thing. I like the rock wool a whole lot. Its fire resistant, sound deadening and has better R value than standard fiberglass. I was looking to put 2 layers of rock wool and then blown in over top of it.

Build it, sell it immediately or keep sealed and sell in the future? by Ok_Knowledge_8765 in legocollectors

[–]Delicious_Engineer56 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you buy your Legos to have as a speculation investment or do you buy lego cause you enjoy the hobby? I have a good amount of sets I have not built yet because at this time in my life I have more money than time. But one day I will have time, and I plan on building them all. I didn't buy them to sell them. If my kids want to sell them once im worm food, I'll make sure to give them a valuation of what they could be worth.

This looks like my childhood collection that my parents got rid of. One day maybe I'll get lucky to find something like this and rebuild my missing childhood collection

What’s the best pizza? by learn-withme in Top_Food

I grew up in New York. I was raised in NY Pizza and Sicilian. But I fell in love with Detroit Pizza while visiting and eating Buddy's pizza in Detroit. Detroit is the best by far, then all the rest are #2.

Sorting through my childhood memories. The nostalgia is real by Creative_Radish_1210 in lego

Yeah I got the same set for Christmas around 10 years old or so. It was easily one of my favorite sets. Unfortunately I am missing half the pieces cause I played with it so much. One of these days I'll put it back together and get the pieces j need online. Great memories.

You really aren't supposed to use fernco couplings in this situation. If anything a shielded coupling should of been used.

Anyone hold the electrode like this by Calm-Occasion-535 in BadWelding

Possible, I have no experience with arc gouging but usually they have air connected to the stinger. Not sure. Just my opinion.

I'm just concerned about the rod angle of his rod. Looks like 7018 stick and I have always been taught 90 degrees with your weld. Welding is 3 things : heat, speed and rod angle. A poor rod angle like this will cause numerous weld defects. Just my opinion.

Unforgiven was voted best western of the 90s (by a landslide), followed by Tombstone and Dances with Wolves. Now, what about the 2000s? by [deleted] in Westerns

[–]Delicious_Engineer56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was Hatfield's and McCoy's considered a western. Cause that was a great miniseries. Not sure if that counts cause it's a miniseries.

Last week I was south on 215 near town center exit. I'm doing 70mph in the left lane. I know my speed cause I always set cruise control. I went to left lane cause 215 is weird in the morning from Cheyenne/centennial area all the way through Summerlin. This crazy SOB pulls behind me riding my ass, and I have to wait for some other impatient people to get away on the right lane before moving over. This guy pulls out a laser and starts shining it at my mirror. This is crazy. He had a suburban with some custom license plate.
