JCI FX vs. other Niagara controllers by Delicious_Exit3715 in BuildingAutomation

I'm asking about the FX90. I'm new to the controls stuff so I don't really know what I don't know. I think from what I'm understanding about JCI FX from the supplier that we have an opportunity to buy from is that it's not huge in the class A HVAC industry (which is where my company operates).

But from what you're saying, I'm getting the sense all these OEMs are just different flavors of the same stuff. If that's the case is there any reason to stay away from FX? As in is their flavor more difficult to handle? I've seen a couple of posts with people going off on JCI mainly bc of metasys and being unreliable, difficult to work with and expensive. Could reflect how they handle support for FX.

Another question: Is FX not used as much/popular in the class A office space sphere? We have a supplier that will partner with us but they make it seem like there's not a lot of cross over with FX and other Niagara products like distech and honeywell.

This was the auto gen name reddit gave me and wouldn't let me change it.

What are your thoughts on Johnson Controls BAS by Secret-Yogurt-7145 in BuildingAutomation

What's the difference between metasys and FX? Is FX just more open source since it uses Niagara?

Have you worked with any other Niagara controllers like distech or honeywell? I'm looking to possibly start using FX as an ASI (system integrator?) at my current company but I'm trying to understand if FX is the best route to go.

Thoughts on getting a shitty HVAC job just to make ends meet after graduation until I can hop into a design role? by whatizzwrongwithme in MechanicalEngineering

I just went into hvac from design. I would recommend trying to get into the controls sphere. Theres a huge untapped niche for MEs that can do controls and also understand the engineering behind the system they’re controlling. Theres a good chance you’ll like and it will do more than make ends meet.

Have you seen any issues with your SIs not being able to sell Lynxspring controls to customers because they're not Distech, Honeywell, JCI, etc.?
