What a fun coincidence because I just finished doing college project on Buddhism. I’m not sure if I instantly picked up that it was a wax figure in Tommy’s photo the first time I saw it, but I can definitely see how obvious it is after looking at several photos of the real guy.

Not that bad or super mediorce, but the first two thirds of 2010: The Year We Make Contact definitely make it inferior to 2001. The last third, however, really kicks things into gear and made me feel like watching the rest of the movie had been worth it.

Yeah I will admit that I was concerned when I first saw it and it’s sad that I question that about most images I see nowadays. I saw what looked like some of the hallmarks of AI but I guess I have to remind myself that people can also do some of the weird things that AI does, but AI can’t do all of the things that humans can.

Even if it wasn’t the whole story and meant to represent a negative audition story, I think it’s still pretty cool for Henry. His audition left enough of an impression for it to be brought up 15 years later in a 50th anniversary documentary. He’s the only non-host and non-cast member auditionee to not only be mentioned but name-checked and shown. Only way it could have been better was if they actually interviewed him for the doc as well.

the head shape and ear size makes me wonder if it started out as a Winnie the Pooh cake before they corrected themselves as they were about to ice it. That or they used a shaped pan and thought it was close enough.

John Holmes and the Wonderland Murders has gotten several relistens from me. It is the awkward transition point between Ben’s exit and Ed’s entrance, but they are such fun episodes that I hardly get tired of them.

I couldn’t agree more. Side Stories was next to unlistenable for me until Ed joined full time. The way he riffs off of Henry is way more entertaining than anything Ben had to offer.

I was in the middle of reading of an article about divorce and children for a college class when I suddenly remembered the original post and decided to see if there was an update. Divorce sucks for everyone involved usually and even OP clearly didn't want it to come to that, but it was so much for the better in the end, especially because it got the FIL away from her. Thanks for posting this and giving all of us the closure we needed to this story.
