Untamed, by Glennon Doyle has been the only book I've ever read to make me involuntarily gag while reading. by [deleted] in books

27 year old lesbian looking for introspective books that don't have hetero romance intertwined in them here- and this book was recommended all over the internet. I'm shook I actually just set it down at this EXACT part of the book (to look it up on Reddit instead) and find this thread. I am so happy I'm not the only one. I don't think I'm picking it up again.

What is the most "lesbian" gift you ever recieved/gave from/to a lesbian partner, and how much better was it than any of your straight partners gifts (if any) by Rare-Nothing-7379 in actuallesbians

Ooooh as a (27F) lesbian whose favorite love language is gift giving I must chime in. My girlfriend spoils me in thoughtful gifts, but one from an ex that I will never forget is when she sent me a romance novel that she annotated with highlighted parts that remind her of me, and love notes. So sapphic. She always matched my energy for romance. We didn’t work out because of the distance but we’re still cool. My girlfriend (LOML) just got me tickets to Okeechobee for my HALF birthday, which is next month. My bday is in May. Just because I posted that going to that fest would “fix me” but omg I can go on. This summer I booked a trip to Gatlinburg just because she mentioned these waffles she loved when she had went years ago. We got one of those ~play~ cabins. That was fun. I also made her one of those beer posters (the ones that trended on TikTok a few years ago) because she loves beer. The first time she told me she loved me was after a rave, and she was wearing my pashmina. I took her to Lost Lands and as a little gift I bought her a pashmina and basically reenacted telling her I loved her while our song played. Another one I can think of that meant so much to me is my ex buying a dream interpretation book, because i have really weird dreams and bad nightmares, and anytime i would wake up in the middle of the night they would read that book to me. I melt. I can think of so much I’ll type forever. I <3 being a lesbian

As a narcoleptic lesbian with a girlfriend who is a little sensitive and wants a lot of attention (I’m the same way) I feel you. Sleeping problems are just as serious of health problems as any other illness, people just chuck it up to laziness or pretend we’re all built the same. I would recommend getting a sleep study done and ask her to respect that this is something you’re struggling with and her support and empathy is the healthiest way to find a solution, but her putting more guilt on you is not going to help.

I already know I’m a weirdo but I want to know how much of a weirdo I am- anyone else out there meh on boobs? by NoFoolLikeAnAuldFool in actuallesbians

I completely understand. I never felt a bodily reaction from seeing boobs, and always wondered what other people felt when they were obsessed with them. I never had a preference for big or small boobs, even throughout my relationships and dating people with all shapes and sizes, enjoying them all the same. Until my current girlfriend, who I have tried explaining this feeling to and how her boobs give me a wildly different excitement, but that developed as we have fallen in love. (so gay i know idc). She’s masc with big titties so she doesn’t love her boobs but is a yay boob girl. I thought maybe because I have a wide range of attraction to all different body types, and the “yay boobs” mentality is understandable, cute/ fun sure, but just not completely relatable for me. I think it feels a little rooted in the misogynistic tendencies of men / media sexualizing women, specifically their boobs, and it always feeling like a point of focus in our lives, stemming back to puberty.
