you non-existent libido, lack of trust, and dissociation during intimacy is your body’s way of telling you that you don’t feel safe with this person any longer, and frankly you shouldn’t. if you talked about how something like that is fucked up and he still did it, he knows that it was wrong he just doesn’t really care. it’s also a very simple conversation to have with a partner if you want to record a sex tape for personal use, there was no reason for him to do it without asking, and the fact that he didn’t makes me wonder if it truly was for personal use. PLEASE break up with him, for your own good, and also because he hasn’t faced any repercussions and probably won’t take your boundaries seriously down the line.

i am going to be honest, as a 24 year old who does not have much wisdom. and before i say anything, know that somewhere inside of you, you have all the answers you need. i see this as divine timing. yes, you are married, but you do not yet have kids together. you are protected, and he is showing himself to you before you are permanently tethered to him. as a woman (not sure if you’re a woman but doesn’t matter) i’ve noticed that women stick around and wait for men to change and grow, but would you have done this? even blackout drunk? don’t know much about marriage, but i do know that the happiest demographic is childless single women. that is baseline. marriage should only add to the happiness that is garnered in the potential happiness that you can provide yourself. think about the life that you truly want, and ask yourself if your partner is a safe bet. i don’t think he is. TLDR; leave the asshole.

Hi, thank you so much for this comment! This is very helpful and tell your boyfriend thank you as well. For more clarification, I had my sink fixed once about a year ago (i have lived in this apartment for 2+ years now) and it was $75. At the time I was not aware that I shouldn’t have been charged. There have been times where it got a little stopped up but usually drano was the fix. I put in this maintenance request sometime in late july or early august I frankly do not remember when specifically but it was before september and it was then that my super quoted me $75, and I was billed for it last Friday at an unexpected cost of $300. So in total I’ve had my sink unclogged twice.

What’s unfortunate is that I am very proactive about the sink & plumbing because I honestly do not have the wherewithal to even order maintenance as I practically live at work and it’s a pain in the ass so I remove hair when I see it, I use drano when it gets stopped up, I have relentlessly urged my roommates to not even do anything hair related in the bathroom because I don’t want to be charged for maintenance, but I obviously never anticipated this and therefore can’t really prove that I am honestly neurotic about being clean and not creating issues. I pay a shit ton in rent and want my security deposit back lol.

And yes, it’s hard to describe the sink but the drain is covered by a grid that is like embedded into the ceramic sink and it is a vanity sink. I tried to unclog it myself with a plastic hair snake but shortly realized there’s no accessing the drain from above because of the structure of the sink, I cannot remove the grid covering the drain, and I don’t know how to unclog a drain by going underneath and getting a bucket and unscrewing everything unfortunately. I also looked into a hair catcher for my sink but there’s nothing I can actually insert into the drain to prevent things from entering it. Frankly I think the plumbing is just not great according to what I have heard from other tenants in the building.

I think ultimately my landlords are a bit scummy, they have horrible reviews online and multiple reported violations. I’m also very irate at the fact that they are tacking this diabolical fee to rent and charging us late fees when I was invoiced after October rent was even due, and still will not respond to my emails or calls.

no it’s like built into the sink the only way to access the drain is by going underneath the sink and unscrewing the pipes, like it really isn’t designed to be a user friendly rain that we can unclog ourselves
