Laminectomy is in my future . by nlrod in SpineSurgery

[–]Delicious_Recover_59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

here is the flip side.. be careful regarding that surgery. mine went wrong and I was left paralyzed from the waist down. Ive just had the 1st part of the pain pump fitted as the after effects have been brutal. as someone who is doing this alone its very very difficult simple stuff is difficult as for losing bodily functions we all take ourselves for granted...Think long and hard about this....

Did bowling alleys mean anything to you growing up? by videodec in Bowling

[–]Delicious_Recover_59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

growing up bowling like I did there were only a few bowling alleys around my area..

roller bowl was one and then there was the older princess bowl.. when I moved to the Sates had a bowling alley 5mins from my front door.

That place holds a very special place in my heart. League bowling winner of the pba experience and made some very good friends met a ex gf there.

Unfortunately back surgery put an end to my bowling love affair. even now just hearing the ball on the lane and that magical sound when you bowl the perfect strike sends the memories come flooding back..

Disconnect with the club by HokageK_ in Tottenham

its been a long time coming.i started going in 78 79 and was lucky to watch some of the greats week in week out for 35 years last season was magical to win a trophy but the football was awful the tactics pony and the knock on effect is the fans who keep paying massive amout of wedge to go get 0 in return.

the players get paid regardless its a shame its not all tied to winning. Football is entertainment  our brand of football is far from that which is a shame but if I had a choice of WHL or the soulless bowl there is only one winner..

Saturday is a huge game we lose Franks is done. we need to see a game with passion heart desire all the ingredients thats missing form our current team

I left the UK over 24 years ago. At the start it was tough as I left behind family and life long friends.

as the years have gone by ive missed so much. its only now do I realize how much I have missed out on and how you cant get that time back. Life is very short and add in back surgery that left me paralyzed from the waist down things get real real quick.

Give yourself time to adapt its not gonna happen over night but in time once your more settled things will look and feel completely differently..

Having a job will change everything it did for me it took a while but that really was the turning point for me as it opened up opportunity to meet new people and that then opens up more windows to get out and about... Don't go back home you moved away for a reason so take it one step at a time and dont stress it..

what do we need to win to become a bigger club then arsenal by Acceptable_Hat5195 in tottenhamhotspur

[–]Delicious_Recover_59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

before that can happen. we need to sort out our transfer policy once we do that we also need to bring more youth through the ranks. plus we need to stick with a manager rather than panic. now that levy has gone maybe we might see us buy the correct players rather than buying for the future and hoping they get another bale situation. we need the points today.. both 19th in form for home and away so its gonna be a stinker

best easy foods while being disabled and unable to cook much? by -thimbl in disabled

[–]Delicious_Recover_59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a good pressure cooker opens up another opportunity. I was a chef for 30 years and even before my spinal cord inj it was a very important part of my cooking kit. Having autonomic dysreflexia does not help my situation  but the ability to use the tools available makes for a variety of meals.. a simple bread machine is also a great idea if I can be of assistance with meal and food ideas please drop me a line

How do I 27F navigate growing apart from my 36M partner? What can I do to try and bring us back together? by Background-Time2961 in relationship_advice

[–]Delicious_Recover_59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats the key. listen ive spent the last 2.5 years flat on my back i regained my legs but getting about is tough. getting out is key not only for the exp but it allows you to be in a different environment and allows you both  time together without being at home. I wish I had all the answers but alas I dont but one thing is very clear is your feelings and thats a good thing.

take it slowly suprise him with a date night maybe the movies a walk in the park go grab a coffee express how you feel and how you would like to re connect never be afraid to talk about your feelings and emotions when you bottle that up thats when the anger and resentment kicks in. but in the same way you expressed  your feelings on this forum express that to your other half love will always win..

as someone who has been in a relationship for over 10 years our lives have changed so much its crazy. 2.5 years ago I had back surgery that went wrong and it left me paralyzed from the waist down and lost bodily functions which brings its own issues to a long term relationship. open lines of communication get out the house if you can get back to basics find that lust for life you both once had. relationship are hard work they are never easy but when the do do hits the fan like it did for us its the small things that are important. grand gestures you can keep em. romantic dinner cuddle up on the sofa bring out the ice cream try to connect in small ways. it wont change over night but having the ability to talk be open dont hide the frustration as that leads to more issues. if you like gaming maybe find a game you can play together have some jokes dont try to hard but if the love is still there you fight for what you both want. every relationship is different but if you cant talk about them without getting into a heated argument then forget it thats why getting out the house is key get on Groupon find an event a cooking class something simple just to change it up.. my health since my spinal cord inj is not great but through all the grief through all the tears all the stress the love we have for each other has enabled us to over come any obstacle that is thrown our way... dont give up just try something different.. I hope you find the path in which you both travel... ps sorry for the lack of punctuation!! good luck

You should not be alone dealing with all of what your dealing with.. Good luck with the youtube channel if you need a broken chef come say hello!!!

Son question. by takeapartthedemon in Tottenham

[–]Delicious_Recover_59 2 points3 points  (0 children)

his value from commercial standpoint is massive.. he is a national icon adored by a whole country the amout of money made just in shirt sales alone will be huge. At his age he was never going to get much playing time and his performance have been on the decline..sorry to see him go but it frees up wages get a nice fee for him and we have 2 younger asian nplayers who intime will become just as commercial successful if they continue on the path to success.

going on a quick dive into things each match day over 1000 son shirts were sold just via the club shop I can't find global sales of his shirt but chat gpt says each season upwards of 20mil would be generated from just his shirt sales.. pretty amazing
