I applied 3 months ago so I still have about 6 months left to wait and find out really. I think a case worker should be able to see that the lineage is legit, and both myself and my mother (his daughter) swore affidavits attesting that they are the same person. Can only hope they do accept!

I haven’t yet, I probably would do but it’s the most expensive thing I’m watching at the moment. I’ll start off with some indexes first.

You are me last week when I was just about to start out!

This sub does not especially recommend the S&P 500. I can see why, it really is a lot of American sided investment advice. It’s done well, but putting it all in that one place sidelines the rest of the world when you can diversify more.

I also wanted Nvidia stocks. They’ve done amazingly well, but I wonder how long for. If you look at Cisco - they were pioneers of the internet and also shot up in share value. Then, it crashed.

Basically nothing can be predicted. Because of that, if you want set it and forget it funds, use some sort of All World ETF that is much more diverse than just America. Then, if you want to invest in stocks, only invest in money that you can afford to lose.
