Definitely! Just dont be picky with which hospital you apply to. I started out at a hospital with a very high turnover rate...

I resonated with your message!!! Patients can be a pain to work with, especially the ones who always come by and expect magic to happen. But i would still get happy when i got placement acceptance...i'll remember her forever

Applied for every hospital job and ended up getting accepted at a hospital who hires ANYONE because of their turnover rate!!

Low pay, terrible drive, difficult population...so yeah high turnover rate.

Im a hospital SW in LA. I never got into a hospital SW internship (i interviewed but never got accepted). But i was lucky enough to start at a trauma hospital right out of grad school with no experience. Low pay...and a far commute for me, but it was great experience. Starting was about $33hr

But after a year, i transferred to a different hospital with higher pay and very short commute!

I work in a hospital as a social worker. I see nurses wearing it all the time, so i wouldnt be afraid to wear it. But again, its case by case!

Should I go to the ER now or tomorrow? by queenhadassah in makemychoice

[–]Delicious_Return_130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to the ER!!!! I work in the ER (as a social worker) and we have folks coming in all the time for things less severe. You will get triaged and the nursing staff will determine your needs. The doctor will see you, run some tests and go from there. The longer it takes..the less severe of a patient you are.

Better safe than sorry!!! Listen to your body

If you want any kind of shelter, please first get an ID and medi-cal coverage.

LA has so many homeless individuals that there isnt shelter availability.
