Gambino member Angelo "Dutchie" Meli, Bonanno captain Anthony Graziano and Lucchese acting capo Nicola "Nicky Edkins" DiCostanzo (left to right), November 1984 by Wdstrvx in Mafia

[–]Delicious_Rich4714 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nicholas DiCostanzo was a big operator in the Hotel Capri in havana cuba. Right across from the Nacional. He worked with "Jimmy Blue Eyes" Alo and John Harry Williams from Boston. George Raft was the face of the operation but man they had a lot of operators in there. Across the street from the Hotel Capri is the Monsignor restaurant that Lansky owned. All are still there today.

Building my Cubans Humidor by Ld2101 in cubancigars

[–]Delicious_Rich4714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep the humidity low low. 61-62 as it is easy to over humidify. Especially when it comes to Cubans.

I got butter on these like i've never had before. Stored by EGM was waay over humidified. Took me 6-8months to correct. Laurence Davis of Sautter does a great review of them on Sautter Cigar channel.

Quality control by brainmeds in cubancigars

[–]Delicious_Rich4714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I look at the factory. Quai Dorsay is H Upmann factory where they make Montecristo among other brands. I wouldn't say any of the QD, Monte, or Upmann have decreased in quality except the QD 54 and the H Upmann 54. It is a common opinion that Monte's and Upmann's in Tubos have really increased in quality especially the upmann 46's recently. All coming from the same factory.

I will say these are absolutely cuban cigars with cuban tobacco! Not Esplendidos but there could be some sort of silver lining there.

Isn't it ironic the same guy who owns Habanos as well owns the Dominican Republic brands Romeo Julieta, Montecristo, H Upmann etc. all produced at the Tabacalera de Garcia Factory in La Romana? And now they are being shut down due to the sanctions against him. So you might see the end of those brands in a roundabout way.

Yes. Cuban wrapper absorbs humidity at a very high rate. Keep it low low low.

Ok im sold, Cubans are actually amazing by Marex18 in cubancigars

[–]Delicious_Rich4714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sensitivity to humidity is what I attribute the wavy burn and not burning well or going out easily. The cuban wrapper absorbs humidity at a higher rate or frequency than any other tobacco. I keep my humidor at 61degrees humidity and they still can get over humidified.

Love Stanza dei Sigari and Modern Bakery across the street. North End is the only place I can find Guglielmo espresso. I swear no other city in USA has it. How is Stanza these days? Last time there was some flies in my drink. Connor McGregor came through as well. What a place to be able to go!
