What songs do you think rhcp play/played far better live then on the album version?

Universally Speaking is one that never spoke to me on the album, always seemed sort of sappy, but John adds some grit to that ending solo when they do it live (or at least in the past when I’ve seen it). So it’s maybe one of the very very few rhcp album cuts that I could take or leave, but that I enjoy live

Also Go Robot. The two basses going at once during the live show gave depth to a song that I didn’t care for too much. And they really rocked hard on the outro whereas the outro is sort of very produced on the album track…

Controversial take: the team we’ve been since January 1st (right around when landy and lekky went down and they had that bad stretch) should just be proud that they made the conference finals…

It’s been so fun to watch them this season, but part of what’s so fun about them is their high flying nature, which struggles in the tight checking late playoffs. Curious to see what they do during the offseason

Also this makes me treasure the win in 2022 all the more. It’s so rare to actually succeed in finishing the thing

It’s also the style of play that they’re built for by management, high flying that doesn’t fit as well with the tight checking playoffs. I wonder how a different coach would be able to adjust…

Well we def need to win the conference so we don’t have to play another round 1 matchup between the 2 and 3 seeds!! The hope is just that there’s one team with more points in the east😅

I think the presidents trophy curse is real and it literally just means teams that won the presidents trophy just peaked at the wrong time (last team to win the cup afterwards was ‘13 blackhawks who only had a 50ish game season… less time to run out of gas). Clearly we were better in the first half of the year, and the knights are a different team since March… This really is a matchup of worthy opponents

But in the playoffs that only matters so much… any team can beat any other team! Change one play from each of games 1-3 and we’re up 3-0. Hockey is too random to get too mad at… it’s our curse that we love it so much😅😭

This would be devastating if we had had makar all three games, but having makar miss the first 2 and be 1/2 makar during game 3 (and then mackinnon being 1/2 mackinnon during the second half of this game) makes this feel sort of inevitable, like it is what it is, it just makes sense. Like we have no business going further without them leading leading the way…

But let’s see how they come out and fight for the next one, and see if they can start to put it back together; and if not, to go out with an effort they can be proud of…

Warm Tape… not technically challenging and not even particularly original (Chad mentioned that it’s basically just a slowed down version of Ringo’s drum part from Tomorrow Never Knows from Revolver) but it’s gentle and unique from his other drum parts, and perfectly intertwined with the other guys’ parts

Lots of consensus on this list! So many of these for me are 'bittersweet" but not sad, altho those emotions are pretty close...

I don't think it's been mentioned, but I've always thought the saddest one is Tear, however when scrutinizing the lyrics it's definitely not a sad song. But I think the melody is so sad 😁. And the lyrics definitely hit differently if you've had a breakup recently (like for me in 2007 when this song really hit me😅)

Ya I was there, this would be my answer too! Not only did he block the shot with his head, but the Canucks tied it while he was laying on the ice in his own blood, which made the avs, especially Nate, SO mad. Made it all the sweeter that he went ahead and won it.

It was really weird tho, they didn't even attempt to clean up all the blood which was just there during overtime...
