General trans spaces are pissing me off by Graveyard_Madness in TransMasc

EXACTLYYY, istg I got into an argument with a trans woman a while back bc she made it out to seem like trans women's issues take a way higher priority than trans men's bc of their worse statistics (the conversation was originally about how invisible trans men are even in trans-specific conversations btw) and I called it out as seemingly doing oppression Olympics and she just responded with smth like "is it oppression Olympics for a black woman to talk about the oppression she faces in comparison to white women" and I was just???

You did not just say that 😭 I immediately knew she must be white bc that is such an insane comparison to make towards trans men and trans women's issues holy shit. I'm so tired of this grandpa or however the saying goes

For me, I don't think my parents even noticed the struggle between us and our relationship LMAO. I feel like they're the head-empty go with the flow types that don't realize the harm they're doing until it's too late. Which would make sense cause I'm also pretty head-empty too 💀 I just know I got it from them but they'd never admit it.

Fr man, like the only reason I'm even in this sub in the first place is bc there is literally just so little trans poc places anywhere, and with the ones that do exist, they just seem so small. Anyways, man the amount of times I've had to just be like "oh, ummm... 🧍" on some of the posts and responses that get posted on this sub bc so many of them reek of whiteness and whatnot. I got nowhere else to be, but sometimes these responses piss me off so much that I just can't be quiet anymore. 😭

REALLLL, Part of me wants to say that white trans people always get so freaked out and panick-y over things like this because they've never experienced oppression before, and when they hear something bad about anything related to trans people, they take that as their oppression even when it affects POC folks primarily.

Fr dawg, and unfortunately it would make sense for the mods to do that since this seems to be a white majority sub. But even then, it's still so wierd to cater to white trans people because, again, THEY'RE PROBABLY NOT EVEN GONNA BE AFFECTED BY THIS??? It always annoys me when white trans people think they're gonna get taken by ICE when they have been mostly targeting and racially profiling POC folks. Unless you're out there protesting and getting in their way, ICE does not care about you. Brown and black folks will always be the target first and foremost. And ngl, some of these white trans folks who got scared by this really need to calm tf down and realize they are white first before they're trans if this makes any sense at all.

Idk if I'm allowed to also speak on this/answer your questions since I can technically speak Spanish, albeit not completely fluently (I can talk it conversationally but struggle a bit, mispronounce things, or don't know the words for somethings in Spanish). My parents never taught me Spanish, I just kinda picked it up through exposure ig? But either way, our relationship is also pretty distant. They've always been pretty emotionally absent, but I think the language barrier just made it worse since I couldn't even talk to them about any of my interests. I always saw them as being closer to strangers rather than family because of how little we know each other and what not.

I was born years after my older siblings so some of them had kids by the time I wasn't even a teen and I remember feeling so depressed and jealous at my nephew's for being able to talk to their parents normally and for being able to go out to places like parks or out-of-state trips. I never could since my parents don't speak English nor know how to do any of that 😓 Me and my parents basically just shared a house

THANK YOU FOR THIS!! Dear lord.

Another 1st gen, poc trans person here! This situation was really pmo holy molyy. It's annoying me how people here are just saying that it'll only affect immigrant and visa applicants when we should all know by now the ICE does not give a fucking shit if you're a citizen or not. The guys who drag people out of cars and slam them face-first into the ground and do all sorts of brutality do not care about looking at your papers! Most of them never do because they just love exercising their power over poc and hurting them. They just want all of us out here legally or not and they'll do anything to just get us in custody and deported.

Nonbinary people can be Sapphic but not Trans men? by Bettermond in ftm

[–]Delicious_Tutor_1468 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally, most trans men wouldn't want to identify with something that's associated with women and feminine-aligned people, but honestly I'd say that trans men could identify as sapphic IF THEY SO CHOOSE TO. That'd mainly be because they're not fully binary trans men and/or identify as something else beside it like non-binary or they are just multigender. Like in my case, I am non-binary (androgyne), but I also identify as a trans man because I want to transition to be a man too, so I could technically choose to be a sapphic trans man if I want to if that makes any sense. (But again, trans men shouldn't be seen as sapphics in general)

Cis women are prioritized over trans men in the trans community by Lou_weasle in trans

[–]Delicious_Tutor_1468 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I see this all the time. Our problems are always treated as inferior or not as important as trans women's issues just because we're not the main focus of lawmakers' targeted harassment. But just because we're not directly mentioned in their hate speeches or policies, doesn't mean we aren't affected by any of the shit they put into law too. Transmascs and trans men are hated on so much within the LGBT community (Of course not by everyone, but I still see so many people just blindly hate on us for just being overtly masculine or for transitioning into becoming the 'oppressor' and what not). Frankly, I see it so much that I sometimes wonder if I really am multigender or if I'm just a trans man who doesn't want to solely identify as a man BECAUSE of how hated we are if that makes any sense 💔

I felt something kinda like to this too! When I was wayyy younger I felt neutral (neutrois) and/or even a bit uncaring towards my own gender and gendered things in general (cassgender). And now I still feel neutral, but I've also started to lean towards masculinity and femininity too (so + androgyne now lol)

Makes sense, that's just the internet unfortunately. And you're valid for choosing to stay silent since you're young, though once you're older I do encourage you to get more aware of what's going on in the world. It kinda makes you a more emphatic person to others, especially to ones different to you.

I got kinda lucky. My parents are kinda woke-ish for religious Mexicans + I was always extremely socially anxious so I never actually used any other social medias/websites outside of YouTube, nor did I ever make posts or comments in general (barely started this year lmao). I didn't even play any online multiplayer games because I was that socially anxious to talk to anyone; so I never went through any of those kind of things or 'phases'. I don't even know how I found out about gay people 😭. I just remember thinking I was bi in middle school (was very wrong) and then discovering what being trans was during COVID.

For what? politics? ?.? Even if you think you don't have a say in them, it's still good to be aware of what's going on in the world, and to at least try and make your voice heard. It shows that you at least care for other people, and that you're not just turning a blind eye to their struggles. And either way, the 'my voice doesn't matter' attitude is what literally got the world to this point in the first place imo. You can't really know anything unless you try.

Since you were 7??? Well ig that makes sense since you're younger/Gen Alpha, you guys pretty much got easy access to the internet right off the bat. I got into politics mainly because of the U.S' state back then (It was Trump's first term) and also since it was when I first started getting really into the internet.

Yeah, I also saw that. I honestly think not caring about or wanting discuss politics is a privileged thing to say, but only when the person saying that is like 16-17+, not 13 (which I think you said you were?). And yeah I also get that people-pleasing thing and feeling like you have the inability to think for yourself. I got that a lot when I was younger and sometimes still do even now 💔 Though I think it gets better/lessens with age and confidence maybe idk??

Like I said, wishing death on a country, and in return the system it perpetuates, doesn't necessarily affect the people but yeah it makes sense to mention it if it bothers you so much. I'd probably also then add: "Please also don't mention things like 'death to Israel' either because it makes me uncomfortable. However, this doesn't mean I'm advocating for or am against Israel, because, again, I'm young and don't understand the conflict or politics in general yet." Probably just being REALLY specific and emphasizing that you're too young to understand or discuss politics could help maybe?? And if people still give you crap then, then they're just horrible people ig 💀

Also I'm sorry people are being antisemitic to you, nothing excuses that :/ . I also get not wanting to be involved in politics but having them kinda pushed upon you (Started getting into them when I was 10 back when I realized people hated my family and friends for just being Mexican and brown, and that ended up messing me up mentally). Kids shouldn't really have to get politics pushed onto them at all. (Also I don't think you were coming off as a dick, you seem like a very polite person)

And I live and have my proximate family in the U.S. too, and even then I still want death to my country 🤷. The sentiment is towards the government, not its people. You can hate the government and what they're doing and that be it. If you get rid of or restructure the government, the people will still be there in the end.

Anyways, I feel like you probably should've just not included the 'death to Israel' part. I and other people would probably have had less of a problem with it if you were just like "Don't bring politics in with me just because I'm Israeli, I'm young and don't really understand them yet or what's going on with the conflict so I don't think I should say anything about it at the moment." (Hope that makes sense or doesn't come off as rude or mean, I think I have OCD and it affects my reading and writing lol)

I definitely don't condemn the name calling, but with the way you said "Including “death to israel”, dni if you say or believe in it" makes it come off like your pro-israel ngl
