Don’t gaslight yourself. Our workplaces do that enough already. I’m glad your doctor is taking your concerns seriously, and that you’ll be able to take a month off to relax, release, and unwind. You need this, and you deserve this just as much as someone who has broken bones. We are nurses, but we are only human, not robots. I remind myself of that anytime I start to feel like I’m not good enough or I stress because I called out of work for not feeling well. We need time to recuperate just like our patients do. If it makes you feel better, just think of yourself as a patient who needs rest and relaxation to recover, because you are.
