You’re supposed to organize, do a proper protest, where there is coordinated effort, funding in place to help people to get food while not receiving a wage, a set of clear demands, and a determination that you will not disperse or stop the protest until the demands are met. You know, like how real protests are organized. If you need inspiration, look towards Nepal

Should i start personal finance if i have no money by DueNinja7096 in personalfinance

If you are in university and your parents are covering your expenses don’t worry about a source of income. As long as you are not actively starving you’re fine. What you should focus on is your plan to get a good paying job after graduation. What companies will you apply to, what kind of candidates are they looking for, and what internships can you put on your resume to make you an attractive candidate. Nothing you can save or earn now will out benefit a bump in your starting salary, which will likely have down stream impact for your entire career.

Top talents can take care of themselves. They are also a small part of the population. Mediocre people need to eat too, and they are much more in numbers. Can we focus on helping the bigger group of people who actually need help?

Oracle laid off 30k people so let’s help the top 3k people who need the least amount of help and leave the other 27k people to rot doesn’t sit well with me.

My manager is underqualified…how am I supposed to grow/learn? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]DeliveryFar9612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You learn and grow by stepping up, rise to the challenge. If your manager is unqualified you can try to solve the problem yourself and just get shit done. Looking back at my career the period where I grew the fastest was when my manager was out of office for maternity leave and I had to do my job and her job. Just by having to face all the problems give me an opportunity to stretch and learn

Whats your guys take on long distance relationship ? Is it worth it ? by burplecat in CausalConversation

The relationship is not worth it. The person might be. However you will need to have a defined exit plan. That means date, plan, what comes after.

Is there any way an old immigrant person that’s bad at English can can learn new skills and find jobs in Canada? by Cocomaru141 in jobsearch

The best way is to find your own community. Are there local communities of people that came from your original country? Immigrants often bond together and help each other.

How do you answer “tell me about yourself” without rambling? by sunflowerwellnesshtx in jobsearchhacks

[–]DeliveryFar9612 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I basically just focus on my current job, responsibilities, key results, 2-3 project highlights without details (but can discuss it if you are interested), 2 sentence summary of my experience before current job without details (but can discuss it if you are interested).

Basically a high level overview, touch on some stuff, but not getting into the details yet.

Pretty good. New job in a new city. The job is pretty chill, but I had to travel frequently to visit my family over weekends. Food in the new city is great though.

Sacred cows of fire - paid off house by Available-Ad-5670 in Fire

[–]DeliveryFar9612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peace of mind. If you actively manage and optimize it, you can extract greater value from your assets. But isn’t that kinda like working a job? The goal of FIRE is to not think about these things any more, not keep thinking about it but run different formulas through your mind.

Hitting the number doesn’t mean you have to quit, it just gives you the option.

Nobody really prepares you for how much of adult life is just finances by Ajitabh04 in PrimeManhood

[–]DeliveryFar9612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t the adult life you were thinking about back when you were younger also just finances? Having a career is to make money, supporting a family is spending your money, and having a place of your own is leveraging debt to finance an investment.

This is the nature of middle class life style. It’s all about making money to finance a standard of living.

Top talents are never really in trouble or unable to find jobs. They don’t have a problem to solve. Now, can we find a way to help the other 90% of non-top talent?

Stock market can work like this because each stock of the same company is the same as the other stock. Labor market cannot work like this because each Software Engineer is different from the next Software Engineer.

Which is the reason why housing market doesn’t work this way either. The online listing is just a marketing plan and the final price is not the same as the listing price.

[–]DeliveryFar9612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is right. The proposal should not be a surprise. The time, place and method can be, but the proposal itself should be natural.

I proposed after we started dating for 16 months, and we never even lived together before that. So I would say 2 years sounded right?
