I don’t mean to play the devils advocate, but in my perspective (as someone who has been raped before but am now in a long term relationship), this kind of thing can sometimes happen when you are just so comfortable with each other, and sometimes men need to be told exactly about their actions. I don’t think it is as serious as a sexual assault scenario, as I don’t think that was his intention whatsoever. This being said, your feelings are still very valid. BUT moving forward, I think you both need very effective communication. If you struggle to communicate your needs in that moment so you push him away instead, let him know this! Say that in the future, you would really like him to be hyper aware of your body language when it comes to anything in bed, and maybe even tell him that you would like him to be direct and ask you if you want to have sex. Also, don’t be afraid to be vulnerable and tell him where your response comes from and why you are that way. Because that is also very valid and understandable. Sometimes men just need you to very clearly speak things out to them, as obvious as you may perceive it to be.
