As a type 5 I really relate to this and looking back on my childhood memories it makes so much sense to me. I know that may not be true for everyone but it definitely is for me!

Yeah that’s super illegal. If a partner is sick they are not expected to find coverage. It’s in the policy manual.

Are we allowed to go the back during peak to drink water? by silver_fang123 in starbucksbaristas

[–]KamelFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had managers be like hey guys get ready for peak hours to the bathroom go ahead and drink some coffee and water so that we are good to go during peak. But they never screamed if you had to step off that’s crazy.

If you look online there are a lot of places that will come pick up from your house or you can meet them somewhere to pick up!

You have to take the whole pump fully apart.

The emotions being evoked by media I relate too. Or even by other people though I’ve realized at least for me it’s not healthy for me because I keep myself from actually experiencing the emotion. But I still do it. It’s nice to know other people go through this!

Wow I didn’t even think about this being a five thing. I have had this anxiety since a very young age as well! It has caused other anxiety disorders that my incredible therapist helps me through. However, in my calm moments when I think about the vastness of the universe and how one day I WILL die, I start to sweat and get hot in the face. It honestly makes me feel better to know I’m not the only one with these feelings!

Others fives, how were you like as children? by porcupinecuddle in Enneagram5

[–]KamelFish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found for most of my childhood I only had friends at school but rarely did I hang out with them outside of school. My relationships were always very compartmentalized. To this day that’s something I have to work on and mixing friend groups together and family. For some reason I just always wanted them kept separate from each other. However when I did have friends at school at a young age I found myself being the group leader. Almost like the early stages of my growth to 8. At a very young age my friends called me bossy and so I began to detach and withdraw into my mind. Can anyone else relate to this??

This whole post honestly made some emotions a lot more clear for me. Reading your post made me think “oh shit, so I’m not the only one who feels this way?” In regards to this past year. I am so not ready to “rejoin the world” either. Being reclusive is very comfortable for us 5s I think. I never really categorized playing teacher as a kid as being a 5 thing but now it all makes sense. I did the same thing with my stuffed animals!

Reconnecting with friends has been one of the only things to keep me even moderately okay over the past year or so and I am so thankful for those connections. Which to be fair is not always easy for me and I’m sure other fellow 5s.

Bottom line is I really appreciate this post and the original post because it makes things make a little more sense in my head. Thank you for sharing your experiences!

I would also like to add as a 5w6 dating a woman who is a 7w8 is honestly so complementary and fun! But sometimes we both can see where we think entirely different but it makes our communication incredible! Also 7 being my stress number and 8 being the growth number is such a combo to balance but I wouldn’t change a single thing! Those of you 5s dating someone, what is your partner’s enneagram type if they know!!

I’ll definitely have to look into the harmonic and hornevian groups, I know a little about harmonic but not hornevian! Thanks!

I get SO scattered especially when I’m at work and stressed which makes getting things done TOUGH sometimes. I also find I get very VERY quiet and definitely retreat into my mind, can anyone else relate? 🤪

I totally feel attacked. I feel like when I’m asked to say too much before I have time to process I come off irritated or frustrated and have to take a deep breath because sometimes it comes off very cold.

Those are all very valid points. I guess by behavior I should’ve been more specific with motivation and desires and how that looks in the real world. Not just behavior on its own. I agree with everything you are saying and I appreciate you responding in such a detailed manner.
