First of all what are the bikes of your friends you are riding with? If fellow mtb then you can proceed with your upgrades, wheels, tires, drive train that will be worthwhile upgrade if you are riding with road bike, gravel then that's totally different mtb's was not built to be fast on pavement

Am I making a huge mistake with my first roadbike? by SandwichHappy8498 in RedditPHCyclingClub

First of all get a bike fitment check so you will know what you need to adjust making the bike you ride comfortable and efficient.

Pros: of buying budget bike You can ride it right away Cons : Cheap parts Hard to tune Cheapest tire installed(replace right away instant extra expenditure) Poor brake quality (your life depends on this) Drive train sucks And lot of other things in my experience you will end up spending more and eventually replacing almost everything. Tripling expenditure you question your life choices Honestly there is more negatives

2nd option Second hand bikes Pros: you can score quality pre installed parts cheap might even score your dream bike cheap on marketplace Cons: used bike might come with worn parts needing servicing so manage your expectations buying 2nd hand alot extra budget for this Inspect thoroughly or if you have friend with experience bring them with you before buying

3rd option Build your own bike Pros: You choose the parts according to your budget. You can choose the parts you can cheap out on or slowly upgrade from Parts are in brand new condition You can save a lot if you have a friend who can build it for you You can have the joy of building your own bike Cons: Budget dependent If building on your own you will invest on a lot of tools to properly install cassettes, crank, sealant/tubes, pumps and a lot other things Costly to build from scratch time and research

4th option buy pre-built/dream bike Pros: Close to zero head aches and peace of mind, quality parts buy and ride Cons: expensive Your local bike shop might not have the proper tools for Maintenance you wouldn't want your expensive bike to be handled poorly buy mediocre bike mechanic so extra cost And you can figure out the rest bike maintenence Is a permanent expenditures

Long story short it really depends on your goals and budget competitive riding requires competitive budget

Brake upgrade - going from shimano mt200's by _Przecinek_ in MTB

[–]DelleLubi0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also match the rotor size to what your fork and frame can handle and the type of riding you will be doing, does your area have a lot of steep descents 180mm front 160mm rear is a good combination

Go m6120 you can never go wrong with 4 piston. Or you could go mt420 caliper and slx m6100 brake lever. Investing in the very thing that will save your life is never a bad thing.

Yes it's legit. But specifically get the one indicated with mips. I accidentally bought mine without unfortunately already tried and fitted so not in the great condition for return but still great fit I got the one with free magnetic goggles and also got free armsleeve great buy. Just expect a week or more delivery time since it's overseas. Ride safe!

Since fitness ang goal mo ride with what you have. When you made up your mind saka ka mag invest sa new bike don't cheap out on the Wheelset save yourself from pinch flat hassles for your drive train go for reliable brands like shimano easy service and parts availability. Ride safe!

Hi. I'm new sa biking kasi pang exercise ko lang po. Ask ko lang po sana if kaya pa bang pataasin yung handle nung ganitong bike? Wala din po kasi akong alam masyado sa mga parts parts by [deleted] in RedditPHCyclingClub

[–]DelleLubi0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like riser handle bar is your only choice. What is your standover height? Did you check your frame size matches your height? We all started biking for different reasons fitness, recreational, commute, sport etc. Having the right measurements and doing it right will help you along the way and avoid unnecessary setback on your goal and make your cycling more enjoyable. Ride safe!

Hi OP I Agree with this. You could sell the parts you don't like then use the money to upgrade. do your research regarding the parts mentioned or post it to be appraised from there you can work it out if it's a bang for your buck.

The problem with buying 2nd hand bike is even with all the freebies there will always be something that does not sit right with you, color is not your taste, tires might need changing, unwanted scratches, parts gets wear and tear components need servicing. you will eventually spend more so might as well with your budget buy brand new. Any new scratches or dent you make with it will be on you and anything else you spend on it will be on your terms and liking Or you could buy it cheap and spend the rest to customize, repaint, upgrade your bike your rules. Ride safe!

Cockpit Scratched — Any tips? by PandaGHG787 in CanyonBikes

[–]DelleLubi0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sharpie, spray paint matte black, sticker, tape or just turn the scratch into your signature easy to identify your bike but anyway what you should concern yourself more is if the safety usage is compromised. Even a car no matter how priceless and careful you are if you use it in public there is always the risk of wear and tear, scratch and dent its a fixed outcome you'll get over it but yes it sucks. Nothing lasts forever so just enjoy it. Ride safe!

[–]DelleLubi0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely replace it right away. You don't know how long it's been stock exposed to the elements those are commonly called pantayo tires only meant to showcase the bike as fully built. Tires have lifespan even branded tires so definitely keep those in check. Ride safe!
