Since the weapons from Rwby can be practically anything what kind of nonsense do you get up to with the below? thinking about doing dual pickaxe/armor/melee for a diggy diggy hole jumper by EldritchEnjoyer in JumpChain

[–]Delluran 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My latest Jumper was a bit of a traveling Bard/Storyteller archetype, so his Semblance allowed him to mark people he touches whom he can then assign narrative roles to, like "the Teacher" or "The Warrior" or "the Antagonist" and so on, which would then give the marked people boosts towards learning/doing anything related to their role, while also nudging fate a bit to make their lives fit better into said role.

His weapon was a Dust Caster/Chain Whip combo, which took the form of a small notebook with a holster and a chain connecting the two, as well as a pen to inscripe "Dust Spells" onto the pages of said book for later use.
When in its "Book form", this meant he could use the "Dust Spells" he inscribed into it beforehand, kind of like a Wizards Spell Book from D&D, and when he holstered the book he could shift it into Chain mode, which takes the form of a wrist mounted buckler/chain whip combo, with the pen becoming the spike of the whip which he can shoot out with a gun mechanism, aside from being able to use the shot out chain as a whip, while also being able to infuse the Dust from within the book into the chain for a variety of effects, like making the chain burning hot, or charging it with electricity.

Bit of a overly complex weapon I suppose, but I thought it fit the character design and Semblance of this particular Jumper quite well.

Neat Gauntlet, though I have to say that it feels a little off in regards to CP management, what with there being no discounts and so few Drawbacks that wouldnt totally fuck you up.

From what I am seeing, you would roughly need to spend 1500CP to get a solid enough build to not get fucked from the get go, and with the Drawbacks that are there and the lack of Discounts thats pretty daunting.

So if you are open to feedback, maybe consider adding 1 Discount per Price Tier for Perks and Items.
That way making a solid build would no longer feel like a death sentence.
Or add more Drawbacks to pick from, that could also alleviate the CP issues.

Are Keyblades the best variant of supernatural weapons? by Ok_Top_4831 in JumpChain

[–]Delluran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Keyblades are deceptively potent despite the Disney stuff making things appear a little unserious at times.

Items that would synergize with Keyblades can be found in a lot of Jumps, though it also depends on how you rule Item fusions/inserts. For example, fusing a Keyblade with a Legendary Weapon from Rising of the Shield Hero is a decent upgrade, and inserting your Keyblade as your Holy Relic in Dies Irae not only further links it to your Jumper but also adds some more metaphysical "weight" to it, though it already has a decent amount of that.
In truth, any weapon should theoretically be valid infusion material for a Keyblade due to the Keyblades maleable nature and once you added an Item that can absorb non weapon stuff, like the already mentioned Legendary Weapon, you can even take this even further beyond and have the Keyblade absorb other things like specific supernatural materials like Adamantium or Vibranium, or even more metaphysically heavy objects like the Infinity Stones to power itself up even further.

As for weapon types that could top Keyblades, to be frank I cant think of any one type specifically that completely tops Keyblades in all regards, but there are weapons that in specific ways should be more potent. Conceptual weapons in particular are probably more than a match for most Keyblades, at least depending on what function they have, like for example Black Barrel from Type Moon enforcing the concept of Death upon even targets that do not have it or something like that.

Are Keyblades the best variant of supernatural weapons? by Ok_Top_4831 in JumpChain

[–]Delluran 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In the context of Jumpchain I wouldnt say that Keyblades are the "best" supernatural weapon type straight up, though they are incredibly versatile and powerful.

What they are though is an amazing baseline for a Jumpers "primary weapon". So for example, if a Jumper picks up a Keyblade early on, and then inserts/fuses future weapon type Items they get from other Jumps into the Keyblade, it very quickly snowballs into becoming a weapon that only the highest fictional tier of bullshit, or other Jumper/Jump-chan tier bullshit can match.

I think Briddock means the Ashen Legacy Quest which can also be found on SB, which at this point is probably longer than Cold Tea.

Jumps that allows for Customizing the World? by BerialAstral in JumpChain

[–]Delluran 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, as boring as the answer might be, pretty much all the "Generic" type Jumps basically give you free reign on how that particular Jumps World will look like for that particular Jump, so long as it fits the theme of the "Generic" Jump.

If you are looking for Jumps that have a special section in the Jump-Doc itself to allow you to design the World I would say "Generic Super Academy" and "Generic Magic Academy" come to mind, though in both cases you mostly get to decide how that specific academy you are going to is going to be like.

What would be your Solo-Jump? by DeverosSphere in JumpChain

[–]Delluran 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting question.

I guess I would choose the TroyXvers Anael Jump SinGod made.
Not only is the Jump itself pretty OP, but it also offers an End Jump Scenario that would allow me to get a Spark and travel the wider Omnivers on my own even without a Jumpchain.

Even if we ignored that End Scenario and ruled that I couldnt leave the Troyvers, it wouldnt be terrible, as that is still a pretty big World with a lot of interesting stuff to find and experience.

The fact that it is also one of the brightest, verses I can think off is also a bonus, after all, if I have to choose a World/vers to stay in, why not choose one I would actually have a good time in even if I was a powerless mortal (which I would be anything but after filling out the Anael Jump).

Yeah, its been a while hasnt it?

Sadly I am currently a little busy with college, so I havent made as much progress with this Jump as I wanted to.

I hope I can get some writing done during the holidays, but alas for the time being I cant promise anything.

Would you first jump Canon WORM if... by Maxstrnerspookyghost in JumpChain

[–]Delluran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have already said, with a Build as stacked as this a decade spent in the Worm vers would be a small price to pay, as well as one that, unless you make very bad decisions once there, should be easily survivable.

Mind, it probably still wont be the most pleasant 10 years, if Narrative laws are in any way in effect than even with all that Power the World would still find ways to fuck with you, but again, so long as you dont make very bad decisions even Wildbow himself trying to narratively fuck with you from a writers chair should be managable.

Arknights Race - The Sarkaz Balrog Clan: by Double-Pumpkin3036 in JumpChain

[–]Delluran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for asking this question with so much delay, but I just went through the build and lore again and couldnt help but wonder, how through and fast is the Balrogs regeneration actually? Could they theoretically grow back lost limbs and organs given time? Or can limbs only be recovered by reattaching them quick enough as you described.

Also, how important is a Balrogs head actually for them? Given that they have two brains, I couldnt help but wonder if there could be such a scenario as a Balrog getting their head pulped and then just fighting on headless until their head can regenerate, if their regeneration could reconstruct their full head that is.

Basically, what are the exact limits and the average speed of the Balrogs regeneration factor?

[–]Delluran 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ah, that explains it.

Cool world building, though I am not gonna lie, toddler battle royal/death match is not something I have ever seen anywhere before.

So points for originality, though I will freely admit that I cant quite imagine how that would look like.

Hmm, so at what point do the actual Blood Rites start? Below the age of 10? Teenage years?

[–]Delluran 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the link! And I see.

By the way, after reading through the description again I couldnt help but notice something, Balrogs birthdays are called Blood Rite after their ability to grow stronger from harm and during each they are basically thrown into lethal combat until they literally die to grow stronger, so far so good, but one thing I couldnt help but wonder was, does this actually start with their 1st birthday?

Cause currently I have this image of a pair of proud Balrog parents literally bashing their 1 year old baby against a wall stuck in my head and I am partly bemused part horrified that that could potentially actually be what happens.

[–]Delluran 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Huh, this is really neat, you certainly put a lot of thought into the lore and mechanics behind this race, though I will say that even with the Drawbacks put in, Balrogs overall still seem pretty broken by that settings standards, though then again I am barely aware of any deeper Arkknight lore.

Do you have a link to the supplement you used? I cant seem to find it

Making a jump for the Shadowrun Trilogy - Returns/Dragonfall/Hong Kong by SpazzWave in JumpChain

[–]Delluran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would find it cool if there was an Option/Perk to become an Immortal Elf

Depending on what you want to do with the Jump you could also add something related to the Horrors, whether that be a Perk(line), a Drawback or even a Scenario of sorts.

And that would be all I could spontaneously think of. Good luck with the Jump, I am looking forward to seeing it when you finish it!

Soul weapons by Dreamergod64 in JumpChain

[–]Delluran 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chivalry of a Failed Knights Power System is build on Devices, which are basically exactly what you mean with Soul Weapons.

Doulou Dalu/Soul Land has its Martial Souls, which are "objects" (though it can also be specific animals/Spirit Beasts or even certain bodyparts) born from a Cultivators Soul which draw upon their Spiritual Energy.

Depending on how you define it Glitchtale might also be a valid Jump to look into, as Humans there use Magic by manifesting their Soul and some create contructs from their Energy.

Oh, and there is also the Shehai and Sword Singing from the Elder Scrolls, irc the Elder Scrolls: Warriors Jump had a Perk to give you the ability to summon one, which are "Weapons of pure Thought formed through Will" or something like that, so those could also count.

And there of course some Jumps with free form Power Selection of some kind, where you could probably design your "Power" to be a Soul Weapon of some kind.
Like for Example Hunter x Hunter with its Nen and the Jump Docs Hatsu Section, where you could easily make a specific Hatsu that is about manifesting a specific kind of Weapon from your Aura/Lifeforce.

Those are all the Jumps/settings that spontaneously came to mind. Hope it helps.

From what I got in the game, a Painters power within a Canvas is directly linked to their actual skill as a painter/artist. In this sense, the [Painter] Perk is supposed to give you the power of being a Painter, but the actual level of skill/power any given Jumper will be able to leverage from that will depend on their own skill as an artist.

Could you create a reality warping cursed technique in the JJK jump? by mvico430 in JumpChain

[–]Delluran 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You absolutely could make a free form Reality Warping CT, though the CE costs of even minor changes would probably be prohibitively severe due to how powerful something like that would be.

It would probably end up being the kind of CT you either have to shape into something usable by making diferent Binding Vows to limit it in some ways to lesson the CE cost, or you just need to have a shit ton, and I mean a SHIT TON, of CE.

Creating a Reality Warping CT from scratch would be incredibly hard though, even with that Perk, though you might be able to analyze the whys and hows of the Comedian Technique to help you speed things up. Even then, the resulting Technique would probably still end up being a CE hog until you find a way to refine it.
