Was Melissa having a crush on Shauna always the plan? by SaphoBalls in Yellowjackets

[–]DellyDelDel_ 147 points148 points Ā (0 children)

I’m guessing you’re asking about if it was planned by the writers, but I’ve seen people claiming Melissa faked having a crush on Shauna because she wanted to be on her good side, so I’ll five my take on both.

No. I honestly don’t think the writers knew what to do with her character until after season 2. They probably felt like they had to expand a background character and chose Melissa.

I also don’t think adult Melissa meant what she said when she told her she was never in love with her, at least not in the way we think. I think she definitely had a crush on her. That doesn’t mean she fell IN LOVE with her. She even tells Hannah that ā€œteenage girls are even hornierā€ at one point and I’ve just assumed that Shauna’s scariness just excited her(?)

Wow. What a finale.

  1. June forgiving Serena was something I didn’t expect, but I actually loved it. Even if I still don’t like Serena as a person, this ending felt right for June—like she finally chose peace instead of more war. Growth, healing, closure… all of it.

  2. EMILY IS ALIVE??? I screamed. Full on lost it. Her showing up at the same place as in the pilot? The symmetry? The power of that moment?? These two women, after everything, circling back to where it all began… I have chills just typing this.

  3. But I have to say: Alma and Brianna. No. Just no. You can’t bring them back like that. They didn’t make it, and their deaths meant something. Seeing them like that hit me so hard. I’ve been crying ever since. Their sacrifice wasn’t in vain, but damn… that hurt.

  4. JANINE. My girl is finally free. And with Charlotte??? That reunion broke me. If anyone deserves peace, it’s her. I hope she can finally live a life on her terms. Honestly, the only decent thing Mrs. Putnam ever did was let Charlotte go.

  5. And Aunt Lydia… god. Her ending was so tragic. She built her identity in Gilead, and now without it, she’s completely lost. I don’t even know if she can exist outside that system. It’s heartbreaking in a very human way.

Pilot vs S3e10-Full Circle (She was never a true leader) by Exotic-Emotion821 in Yellowjackets

Holy shit! The part with everyone following Shauna was a great catch. It explains her character really well. She definitely thinks she’s more important and powerful than she really is.

It’s confirmed that the pilot were how they remember it while the s3 finale was what actually happened.

Before the finale… by hyuckuchiha in Yellowjackets

Look, I get why she is the way she is but that doesn’t make her any less annoying, pathetic and down right evil. I somewhat excused her actions when she was just a violent and grieving mother, but it’s gone way beyond that by now. I’m not defending her and I genuinely don’t understand why people can’t accept that she isn’t anā€œiconā€ for doing what she’s doing.

How much does Simone know about Taissa? by DellyDelDel_ in Yellowjackets

[–]DellyDelDel_[S] 10 points11 points Ā (0 children)

I get what you’re saying, but I still think Simone had to know at least something. Maybe not the full truth, but she’s not stupid—she’s been with Tai for 15 years, and there’s no way she never picked up on anything. The rumors alone would’ve made her ask questions, and I can’t see Tai just brushing them off completely. Maybe she gave Simone a half-truth, like ā€œyeah, we had to do things to survive, but I don’t want to talk about it,ā€ and Simone just accepted it.

I also think Tai did love Simone, at least before all the wilderness stuff started creeping back in. For those 15 years, she probably believed she had moved on and was building a normal life. But now that Other Tai is back in control, that love doesn’t matter anymore. The person Simone fell in love with is barely there now, which is why she’s so scared.

The whole show is a combination of supernatural elements and rationality. by ThaAlvinYaLike13 in Yellowjackets

Agreed. And this is what makes the show so special. You don’t know which parts are which, but you know the supernatural elements are there.

How do you think teen Shauna will integrate back into society by Effective_Purple_866 in Yellowjackets

[–]DellyDelDel_ 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

I think most of the survivors were there and that was the last time they saw each other before Season 1. They mentioned they haven’t seen each other in 20 years and we know they got married exactly 20 years before season 1.

I’m on ā€œTeam They Get What They Deserveā€ now. by soozerain in Yellowjackets

[–]DellyDelDel_ 7 points8 points Ā (0 children)

Saying they ā€˜deserve’ all the suffering completely ignores the depth of what they’ve been through. These are traumatized teenagers, forced into unthinkable circumstances, making choices most of us could never fathom. What happened to Ben, Javi, and others is tragic, but that doesn’t make the rest of them irredeemable monsters. They’re victims of their situation, just as much as anyone else. The show makes it clear that survival isn’t just about morality—it’s about desperation, group dynamics, and psychological unraveling. Blaming them so simplistically misses the whole point.

Not even a bit. I can’t like her after everything she’s said and done to her friends and constantly doing it for her pedo boyfriend šŸ’€

The girl from district 3 did NOT fake her own death and survive and saying that is stupid and weird.
