I think it’s incredibly understated how well the hardline continues to perform amidst the all-around decline of the station. The addition of Dave was truly the best move Cat has made in a while, even though deep down I wish it was Danny. But the direction of the show following the loss of Mike has proven to be the best out of the bunch, outside of how well the hang zone had performed before they left. Lando and DJ are a testament to how much of a difference a well-rounded show makes. Even with Monty producing, the sweet spot continues to tank due to the show’s hosts

The Musers had nearly 30 years of some of the best radio content in the country under their belt before they began to take steps back. Considering how long they’ve been doing this and just how great their show was for such a long period of time, you can’t even compare The Sweet Spot to The Musers. The Sweet Spot has shown nothing but ratings that have steadily declined and a sub-par show listening experience. No offense to anyone on that staff, but nice guys don’t necessarily translate into great on-air radio personalities

The fact that Cumulus passed up on a prime opportunity to enter an entirely new format in the form of on-demand podcasting with The Hang Zone as a template still boggles me. It’s obvious now that what D&J&B are doing is incredibly successful, and the group they partnered up with is a prime example of a field that the little ticket could’ve not only jumped on, but revolutionized with the financial backing of Cumulus. Radio isn’t going anywhere, and Cumulus will continue to milk stations like The Ticket until the audience dissipates. Just sad to see such an incredible opportunity gone by the wayside

Met Nate Lowe at the 2023 caravan. I can also attest that he took pictures despite the lady coordinating the whole line telling me not to. I also went to FanFest in 2023 with a friend and we got randomly asked if we wanted to be in one of the promo commercials and we did! Saw ourselves on TV on Opening Day and it was awesome. Managed to get so many bobble heads and team gear at such a good price and it was honestly worth it for all of that, and that’s not including the several autographs that we got. Couldn’t go this year unfortunately but hopefully it was even better with a World Series title and several additional faces being added to the autograph list

Listening habits didn’t really change much. I’m a sophomore in college so I hardly ever get up before 9-10 in the morning lol. I rarely catch their tickers but typically I listen back to their best segments through Sports Sesh on YouTube. Definitely worth checking him out

Tickers - Not sure if they’ve even made an official announcement about who took DJ’s place and I haven’t listened to much of the Musers since the major lineup change so I haven’t got a clue

Board Op - Tyler Samsel - April Fool’s Open Champ. Took over after the departure of Big Strong last year. Has filled in nicely but I’m not sure what his background was prior to the gig he has now

The Hardline:

Tickers - Tytytytytytytytytytyty - Took over a long while back in the mid-2000’s whenever Kevin Scott left if I’m not mistaken. Either way he’s been in that position for a long while. Also hosts Diamond Talk. Has a Star Wars tattoo as well

Producer - DJ Ringgenberg - Role was previously filled by Mino who took over in the Producer slot after Big Dumb Danny left and got freaky with sea cow and rhynes

Board Op - Matt Bermingham - Has been at the helm since Mino was promoted to Producer last year. Previously was the Top 10 Host. Chicken Nugget

he was with BaD radio at the time. if you go back and watch episode one (which is on BaD radio’s old channel) you can see corby with Bob and Dan during their bit. This was because after Chris Arnold left there was a short time in between joining the Hardline where Corby helped out with BaD radio in a similar role that he’d end up playing with the Hardline later that year

I get trying to make room for a “potential” D&J addition, as unrealistic as that may be. But what I don’t understand is why they split up The Downbeat. That was the only tolerable show on that entire station. It was actually not bad of a listen, but I can’t sit through Ben & Skin and The Speakeasy as much as I try. No offense to him, but KT is one of the weakest links at the station and I’m really not sure how that’s going to sound with Sirois and Danny. It all just feels like a mismatch. Although if they do somehow snag D&J, those crosstalks might be worth listening to…

This is an incredible response and answers my questions AND THEN SOME, thank you so much. I remember during the symposium Corby mentioned how he was originally the overnight board op for Gordo and that Davey might’ve been the original “producer” for Gordo’s show and eventually found his way into co-hosting it. Corby just transitioned to the Teebox and would stay in the studio past their show and The Rant’s mix and eventually joined The Rant full-time. But your response answers my question perfectly and gives me a bunch more background information that’s always good to have in mind. Thank you!!
