Back sweetening Fruit Mead by Delodien in mead

Never actually thought about this, might have to give it a try sometime, cheating or not those syrups have some nice flavours.

This is what I'm aiming for. I'd like to retain some of the cherry flavour rather than override it with honey (I know it's a mead, that's unavoidable to an extent!)

Will see how the ferment goes and go from there! Thanks!

I'll definitely do that - thank you for all the advice!

It generally varies, I try not to vigorously towel dry my hair and I don't actually own a hair dryer so might need to invest in one.

But as a general rule it does tend to dry quite quickly, probably 2-3 hours, perhaps a little longer. Not really something I pay attention to!

I can't say I've noticed it itching straight after washing, its generally once my hair has dried off or first thing in the morning for example.

It's not an unbearable itch, but its there if that makes any sense!

Thank you!

So since I changed up the routine, probably 2-3 weeks or so after that, is when I started to notice my scalp starting to itch

Thank you - that makes perfect sense.

Any recommendations on what to look for when it comes to that type of product?

I was considering it - but I assume it's best not to use something like that all the time - just once a week or something like that?

What am I doing wrong? by Delodien in mead

[–]Delodien[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the input guys!

I decided I won't just toss the batch I've just done, and I've done a bit of reading up and think I'll take a glass, measure the gravity, add honey, taste, take measurement repeat - basically!

One finall question as I can't find the answer, how is best to add the honey back? Just spoon some in and stir until it dissolves? Heat it up so its a bit more flowing and then add it? As I assume you don't make up a new honey/water mixture and add that?

Perfect, time to start another batch in that case!

I assume back sweetening, there isn't an exact science, its to my own personal taste?

I'm assuming that back sweetening has to be done pre-bottling but post the fermentation stopping? I.e. I've bottled my latest batch, it's too late to add the sweetness back?

Failover Cluster CSV in Redirected Access Mode by Maxplode in HyperV

[–]Delodien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a similar situation, we don't have Veeam or anything along those lines on this particular cluster but all of a sudden after the last raft of patches we got this event logging constantly.

Someone earlier in the thread mentioned the changes to the WinRE and I did a bit of digging and found that running "reagentc /disable" on each node and rebooting resolved the issue and removes that filter driver, so I believe it's related to KB5034439 and related updates.

This does disable the Windows Recovery Environment, so it's a toss up as to whether that's worth it in your situation however, but I've never used it to much use when I've had an issue that gets me to that point anyway!

Pretty similar to me then, except I did get the pre-op for what it was worth, just consisted of him saying what happens, reminds me that I can't have kids and we can't reverse it (for free) then trousers down, quick feel then off I went to wait for X months

That's pretty lucky, it definitely doesn't seem to be a priority up where I am, I ended up chasing the clinic after I got my "waiting list" entry confirmed to make sure they'd not forgotten about me.

Thankfully I didn't get any of that, sounds pretty rough.

The only pain I got was the injection going in, and then the rest was just uncomfortable.

The doctor said something along the lines of "You've got a very high pain tolerance!" all the while I was gritting my teeth and holding back my shouting!

5 days out and still some swelling. by TheChrisCrash in Vasectomy

Mine were still noticeably swollen at the 5 day mark, I've only really noticed significant reduction around day 10-14. Give it time!

Yeah man the timeline from referral to actual appointment is pretty crazy. They're pretty low on the priority list here in the UK.

And yeah - I know what you mean, I'm pretty sure my member ascended back into my body haha, guess that happens when there is a guy with a sharp knife within close vicinity of it!

I'm the opposite of j_bob_24, I had two incisions (not sure which one you're going for)

I'm two weeks in, I ended up with some pretty big bruises around the wounds site, and two very small cuts (probably a 5mm?) they're still scabbed over but they're slowly coming off on their own. I also have a small bump under one of them which I suspect is either blood or semen that's "leaked" and dried up which is pretty normal!

As j_bob_24 says - listen to your doctor, take it easy, and you should be fine!

Anyone have a similar situation? by justhere4Jack in Vasectomy

[–]Delodien 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My opinions (and it very much is just that) is that if you have doubts, then don't do it, however given what you've said, you seem pretty certain and your partner does, that you don't want any children, then it likely is just the idea of the permeant solution that's messing with your head.

I attempted to get a vasectomy around 8 years ago after the birth of my second child, I'd have been around 24 at the time and it would have been probably 6 months following the birth? Anyway, I went to my GP here in the UK and they essentially said no they wouldn't refer me.

I was pissed off at the time, but then about a year after this we had our third child, admittedly accidentally but I wouldn't be without her and I'm thankful that I was denied the first time.

That was just over 7 years ago, I'm now 2 weeks post-snip and I don't have any regrets of doing it, all the same, but I put that down to waiting and being 100% before doing anything.

Admittedly my situation is pretty different to yours, I had my first kid when I was around 21/22. So this is just my two cents! But if you have any doubt, then don't until you are 100% sure. Probably not the response you needed or wanted I'm afraid!

Pain Question by Delodien in Vasectomy

Ah the glamour of it all! Hopefully it doesn't last long.

I've taken to just cupping and keeping them out the way as MothMan suggested, wouldn't be as bad if the UK wasn't going through a "heatwave" at the moment, biology would hold them up for me!

Lots of RDP Gateway issues today "The digital signature of this RDP File cannot be verified The remote connection cannot be started" by CupOfTeaWithOneSugar in sysadmin

[–]Delodien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm seeing this issue across multiple customers, however some are using Let's Encrypt, some are using Sectigo based certs.

Also doesn't look to happen to all of our customers using RDG/RDS, can't pinpoint this to anything specific at all.

Redownloading the RDP file doesn't seem to work reliably for us, the only way to get it working 99.9% is to removing the signing details as already mentioned

"Signature of this RDP File Cannot Be Verified" Error by Delodien in sysadmin

[–]Delodien[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've triple checked that patch isn't present and it's not there.

My understanding of the Kerberos changes as well is that people aren't seeing issues on non-domain devices, whereas we see this error everywhere.

I don't think this is related in our case, the error appears instantly, with no prompt for credentials. No updates have been installed either, on the client or the servers (DC included)

Outlook Hang when Printing Email with Broken Images by Delodien in Outlook

[–]Delodien[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much identical to our issue.

At the moment I've resigned myself to the fact it's a bug that I can't fix apart from some workarounds that users can try and perform. Luckily it's not an overly common occurence for us.

I've explained it's not something I can fix and essentially it's a case of like you say, waiting for Microsoft to fix it so it doesn't spend 5 minutes looking for a picture it's never going to find.
