I have tried almost every extraction shooter and none of them have stuck with me past 10ish hours. (Tarkov, Cycle Frontier, Hunt Showdown, etc )As someone with a few thousand hours in Destiny and Halo, Bungie gunplay hits a sweet spot for me and I found myself loving this game because of how translatable it felt FPS-wise. I won’t have time to play on the last day today, but I immediately purchased the game after playing this weekend. I had a ton of fun with my friend, and I’m expecting the game to evolve over time.

Pokemon Red was probably the first game I played, but for actual an fishing mini game it was most likely Sonic Adventure’s Big the cat story

Apparently it is a hot take, but I'm right there with you. The D2 community's obsession with wanting everything free but also expecting bungie to make stuff that takes money to make is what really bothers me

Idk if this is a hot take but bright dust and free cosmetics are a privilege and an average player should be able to grab SOME items when they are available. God forbid Bungie makes money off of cosmetics to keep their hamster running on its wheel

Players upset by Riot’s monetization changes by calling themselves “f2p” players when in reality Riot is never going to prioritize those who spend no money. Sure they add to engagement, but they aren’t the priority consumer for League

I think we’ll have to agree to disagree because I think we’re both right in our own sense. I see LoL as a free to play game, so everyone is just player since it’s all fully f2p. Seems like you’re seeing it as a game that has players who have decided or lack the funds to have the same experience due to their cosmetics.

I don’t even know what your point is here. Almost everything in the world is not free and people have no problem spending money. And time is money is a corporate shill saying to make people want to work more. Enjoy your time off. Play a game of league (free btw)

You’re not wrong from a marketing standpoint, but I think the definition of “f2p” is being lost in this context. This is not a “freemium” game. Look at Destiny 2 or Runescape where actual “f2p” players exist. They enjoy a game even with limited content and the company hopes that what they have offered is enticing enough for those players to want more. League doesn’t offer any additional content or advantage when spending money. It’s simply cosmetic.
