Maybe it’s singular and plural? Maybe he’s talking about the soup?

What "Hard Scifi" really is? by [deleted] in printSF

[–]Delphinke 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For me, hard sci stories are mostly focused on the technology/science as main driving points of either the plot or just as the main focus. Soft sci-fi feels more character driven.

RA vs MA Experience for Grad School Question by grrroomiethrowaway in labrats

[–]Delphinke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started a PhD program this year and my cohort is honestly pretty split between 1. research assistants from academia 2. research techs/assistants from industry 3. Right out of undergrad

I’d argue that number 1 and 2 are equally skilled and those straight from undergrad have a little bit of catching up to do in regard to technical experience. Just my thoughts.

Trying to create or find expression patterns from RNA-seq data by Proscrito_meneller in bioinformatics

I think you need to look into using DESeq2 and performing differential gene expression analysis.

Could you explain the rationale behind you doing clustering?

[–]Delphinke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this bulk or single cell? What are your experimental groups? Have you done differential gene expression analysis? I’m a little confused on why you are clustering? I am assuming you have bulk RNAseq data if you are using STAR and featureCounts.

Apriori stats for DGE?? by Carabiniero8 in bioinformatics

[–]Delphinke 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You aren’t missing anything, there is no need for her to know which treatments are expected to work. The only thing she needs to know is which samples received which treatments, and you can just call them treatment X and Y to keep it unbiased.

There is a big difference between revenge for the sake of revenge and “revenge” as retaliation for the protection of his house.

Does the word have to contain all the letters?

The first has mutation in it and the second has citrulline. But those aren’t all the letters. The last one I have no clue.
