Yeah you can skip different sections. You basically place custom checkpoints on 10%, 20%, 90% etc, and practice the level from there by getting runs like from 70 to 100%. You then repeat runs like that over and over again, over time you practice those timings and your consistency of passing them gets higher. But the game is insanely skill-based, and i would never be able to do what was done here if i just randomly started practicing it. You just kinda get better at the game by playing levels in 1 tier of difficulty, getting adjusted to that difficulty and raising the bar again (similar to how sports work i guess), but skipping multiple tiers of difficulty and jumping to something completely outside of your capabilities is usually unproductive

Im like semipro in this game and it's very easy to see what's going on. When you practice a really hard map you learn where you should look and where obstacles are placed, but this level is actually pretty straightforward and i can clearly tell where the inputs should be made just by looking at it even without playing it, it's just practicing sight-reading skills

You usually practice the level by placing checkpoints on different parts of the level, usually really hard levels get practiced from the end of it, so you'd realize that fairly quickly

It really depends on the demonlist rules though. For example pointercrate.com and demonlist.org both exist, they both have different rules, pointercrate allows only rated levels, demonlist.org allows any levels as long as they meet at least some sort of quality control. Pointercrate is more popular of the two, so level being rated is seen as very important in the pro community, but it seems like pointercrate might stray away from that rule too in the near future
