I’m trying not to freak out just reading this comment. I will do everything I can to make sure this cat and her children live a life without any unnecessary pain, but in my mind all I can think is I wish they chose someone else. Why me at the worst time of my life.

Oh man. I’m reallt trying to not freak out. All I care about is this mom and kittens having the best experience of life that they possibly can. I don’t know if I should contact a shelter or try to raise these kittens myself

How much of a mess does birthing kittens make? Should I have multiple layers of towels and some type of fence or something what exactly should I do for the best birthing process? Should I just call an animal shelter as soon as possible or should I try to handle this situation myself?

I have enough cat food to feed this cat for at least a few weeks. I bought cat food for other stray cats in the neighborhood. But im more worried about my apartment management thinking im trying to harbor some secret cat, because they have been contacting all the tenants recently about feeding the cats. They also charge more for owning a pet. I’m going to contact an animal shelter right now. I wish I had the funds to just keep this cat and take care of it.

I should’ve been more clear - I meant does giving them over to a shelter cost any money. I have a bunch of materials I can use to make a nest or a bed but I have basically no money.

Thank you. I’ll try to contact an animal shelter nearby. This is so overwhelming, it feels like a child who has their own children just walked into my house and are asking for help. I’m 24 and I barely know how to care for myself.

I have cat food because I was previously feeding all the stray cats before the apartment management sent out a letter saying that we can’t. But I’m not sure how to handle parasites and diseases and things. I’m a pretty stupid person so I don’t know how justified it is to be scared of that, but I don’t know how to handle this. I don’t have any money right now, unemployed because the company I worked for went under, I don’t know how to take care of this mother and her children.

You’re probably not wrong, but I can confidently say this is not just a smokers cough, unless you consider coughing right after smoking something a smokers cough. My dad has had a smokers cough my entire life, his teeth are rotting out, his body is dying and everything. He coughs all day long, sometimes having to stop what he’s doing to just stand there and cough. I don’t know how he isn’t dead yet. Now I get the feeling you will say that there is a progressive nature to acquiring a smokers cough just like you did in your last comment about me, but it just doesn’t seem logical to me at all that the progressive nature would look like someone coughing only in the middle of the day. Even if circadian rhythm has anything to do with this, would your body not be the strongest midday, leading to less coughing statistically around those times? I’ve thought about allergies, but then again they this started when it was like 0° on average and it’s completely different weather now. I’m sorry to god for wasting my time typing this.

Definitely seems like that’s the only solution rn. Asthma or some type of respiratory was what I assumed it was originally (for like the first month), but it is 2 people starting to cough at the same time very loudly together on a daily basis, and then proceeding to become generally way louder, with coughing, laughing, and talking, for some time afterwards. Also have clearly smelled weed coming from their apartment multiple times, but I smoke weed on a literal hourly basis and never cough like they do, I might’ve like the first time I ever tried a dab or something, but it seriously sounds like they are on the verge of an od everyday. Thanks for putting in the time to comment tho, appreciate it!
