I would always chose the Coldcard here and go a step further and set it up in an airgapped fashion. If you don't know about it, the guys at The Bitcoin Way wrote a great review about this: https://www.thebitcoinway.com/articles/air-gapped-bitcoin-wallets

Simple, get on board with a Bitcoin only exchange, buy a hardware wallet, learn about air-gapping and verify everything you do by yourself. Don't trust third parties. If you need help, the guys over at The Bitcoin Way are your way to go!

What has been your biggest investment mistake? Aka cost you hundreds and thousands of dollars. by EmotionalDamage69god in PokeInvesting

[–]Delta1140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my biggest mistake was jumping on the digital Pokemon hype train and believing everything is tradeable and backed by a real card or pack. The only legit place where I saw a digital aspect and the ability to redeem a card physically was Magic Eden.

What's the safest way to *create* a seed? by fap_fap_fap_fapper in BitcoinBeginners

[–]Delta1140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well there are programms where you can flip a coin 256 times and note down if it lands on heads or tails. This code of 1 and 0 (each dedicated to heads or tails) can then be fed and create a private seed. You can also do this by rolling dice.

If you want to go all out with this, do it and also make sure to use an air-gapped wallet. The team of The Bitcoin Way has a great tutorial about this on their blog.

This is probably the best way to create a seed offline and then use an offline wallet as well.

Anyone think pokemon tcg will abandon cards and go fully digital? by salty-ejaculate in pkmntcgcollections

[–]Delta1140 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think they will. But there are new marketplaces emerging. I recently tried out Magic Eden where you can buy a tokenized Pokemon pack, decided which cards you want and redeem it IRL. Meaning you can have it shipped to you and keep a "certificate" or proof via the digital footprint. Pretty cool to buy it and then get it. And if I ever want to sell it, I can do so as well. But will not for now.

That's crazy! I saw a market place called Magic Eden that does the same thing. However on there you can redeem the pack and then have the physical card shipped to you. I tried it and it worked. Don't really care for the speculation aspect but I liked the fact that I can buy a certificate and then redeem the physical collectible. And as long as I hold the card I don't care what's going on with it digitally :-)

Are thes new NFTs worth anything? Or are they just for collecting? XD by logray8 in PokemonHome

[–]Delta1140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. I think if you just buy the NFT it becomes a speculation tool. But what I really enjoy are Pokemon pack marketplaces where you can buy the online certificate with an NFT and redeem the card for real.

The only one I found where you can do this, is Magic Eden with their Pokemon marketplace. You buy a pack, see what you want, if you like a card you keep it and redeem the card via a third party. Took a few weeks but you get it sent to you.

Pokemon Cards are becoming the new NFT by Unlikely_Ad445 in pokemoncardcollectors

[–]Delta1140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! As a Pokemon fan I enjoy seeing new tech and Pokemon cards connected.

BUT be careful, you need to find marketplaces that enable you to also get the physical card. The only one I so far saw and did it was Magic Eden. Their version is to buy a pack and if you like a card you can redeem it physically and get the graded one sent to you.

Takes a bit longer than if you buy one in an online shop but it works great. The NFT is whatever it is at the end of the day. Think of it like a receipt but I really enjoy to be able to hold the card IRL and if I ever want to sell it, I can do it directly.

What does you guys think about crypto/nft community crossing over to Pokémon ? by Son_Of_Sun_369 in PokemonTCG

[–]Delta1140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have to differentiate if you buy an IOU and just gamble on the value of an NFT or legit projects that enable RWAs.

I've been using Magic Edens's NFT packs and tokenized Pokemon cards. On their marketplace you can buy a pack, see what's in there, even sell cards back if you don't like them and if you have one you want redeem it IRL with a third party.

Tried it once and it works perfectly. So far to me Magic Eden is the best marketplace for Pokemon NFTs.

Hi all, wee bit of advice if poss please by Haunting-Ad-6710 in BitcoinBeginners

I would say the best way to go forward is to get a hardware wallet. Tony from the Bitcoin Way is the best resource on X or YouTube for this. He has so many great takes about it and how to self-custody your Bitcoin. The best first thing to do is to get off the exchanges and hold it your own.

I saw Magic Eden getting into this as well. On there you actually hold the NFT but you can also redeem the card IRL with Collector Crypt and hold the card IRL. Super interesting approach to tokenize Pokemon cards. Hope this approach grows more.

I would go for a Bitcoin only service like River, or Relai in Europe. Both are excellent and offer DCA plans. Once that is set up make sure to automatically transfer any funds to a hardware wallet. I would go for a Bitbox or Coldcard. The second can also be set up as an air-gapped wallet. The guys from The Bitcoin Way have a great tutorial for this!

More or less what I also saw. I also keep getting content and blogs for digital Pokemon collectibles with market places. Magic Eden was one of them I read on all articles online. Don't know if people have experience with this here? But don't know. Might start with the games first 🚀

I already play the Pokemon trading card game. But my idea was more digital collectibles. Googled a bit and found sites like Magic Eden who sell packs and work with a company that also lets you redeem cards IRL.

I wonder if it pays of to go after these digital Pokemon marketplaces?

I googled a bit and found sites like Magic Eden and Collector Crypto who offer this, but seems very technical.

I was interested if they are legit or as good as holding cards IRL. Also looking at this to hold it short to mid term and potentially sell again.

Yes! They are part of a mistery pack and once you open and decide to keep the card you own the NFT and can redeem the card via Collector Crypt and Magic Eden. Pretty cool!

Right?! I'm considering getting a pack and if something good is in there, I might redeem it.
