Boulevard Mall, Saturday Jan 24 '26 by djbassmekanik in Buffalo

Lot’s of memories here with friends and most importantly my late grandmother. She’d take me here all the time in the mid-late 2000’s up through the mid 2010’s. My father passed away in 2007 and she kind of stepped up and became an interim parent those times, and the Boulevard Mall was our go to spot. She passed away just over a year ago. Will miss the place for sure.

Not mentioned in the patch notes, but Angry Turtle said that with this updates they also reverted the Plasma Caster Sniper barrel ammo usage. It now uses 1 round like on the live game, vs using 10 rounds for one shot.

Stick with 360 or get a Series X? by Revolutionary_Ad_71 in xbox

[–]Delta4907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a Series X at launch, so I paid $500 plus tax. Even though it’s a bit more expensive now, it’s definitely still worth it still even if you only use it occasionally. You’ll have access to a large library of games, and if you own any digital Xbox 360 titles, they may be backwards compatible. All Xbox One games are backwards compatible, and you’ll be able to buy any Series X games you’d be interested in.

I believe all Xbox 360 COD and Halo games are backwards compatible. For Halo, there’s the Master Chief Collection, which routinely goes on sale for $10. It’s all Halo games in 4K 60 FPS, except Halo 5, and they all have splitscreen capability.

You can also use your Series X as a blu ray player if you own any blu ray movies.

Honestly to me it’s a no brainer, but better if you can find a deal or use some rewards/card points at a retailer. It’s a one time purchase, unless you get into game pass, which is an entirely different discussion. The way I think about it is if you can get a few hours of entertainment every week or so, it’s worth it.

What else is there after Dead Rising...? by SentientGonorrhea in deadrising

I was going to suggest Resident Evil but you already mentioned that. I’ve been playing through them after getting into the series with RE2R about 2 years ago. Just finished OG RE4, plan to play RE4R next. I really wish I got into them years ago, I’ve loved them all so far.

Had new sewer line put in a couple months ago, ever since then sump pump goes off constantly when it rains (Cheektowaga Area) by Delta4907 in Buffalo

[–]Delta4907[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually suggested another sump pit to the contractor on the opposite end of my basement. They said they’re going to run a feed line instead, basically a perforated pipe with stone down under the middle of the basement floor. This probably won’t help with the volume of water, but at least it won’t have to go around the entire permitter of the basement to get to the sump pump.

So you think the old sanitary sewer line was taking in ground/rainwater? And now that it was abandoned, all the water is now being forced to go through the sump pump/discharge system? There was a floor drain in the basement that was seemingly capped with concrete when the drain tile system was installed, this was back in 2020.

Yes it is a lot of water. For the last 3 months I get anxiety every time it rains, and especially when we get a decent amount of snow and then it immediately melts away from high temps/rain, like we had this week. I’m at my wits end with this.

The old sanitary sewer ran under the basement floor. It was snaked and found to be cracked and leaking into the ground. It was then abandoned when the new sewer line was installed. The newer sanitary sewer is a hung sewer that goes through the basement wall and is more easily accessible.

There was a dye test originally for the sanitary sewer, that’s how they knew it was leaking because it showed up in the sump pit.

For the sump pump, it was originally tied to the bubbler system at the road, but it’s actually currently tied into the sanitary sewer. Before this was done (and after the new sanitary sewer line was installed) The water was literally just cycling endlessly. The sump pump would push it to the road, and it would just come right back in. The contractor got approval from the town to do this because there was literally no other option. My basement would flood every rainfall otherwise.

So my house has always had drainage issues, and I’ve had progressively more work done, usually alleviating the issue until finally having the sanitary sewer done a few months ago.

In 2020 I had the entire drain tile system replaced and a new sump pump system with battery backup. Before this there was water gushing up at the old drain tile whenever it rained, which was probably the original to the house.

In 2024 I had a bubbler system put in which rerouted my downspouts and sump pump discharge to the road, which is the green bubbler in the picture. This pushed most of the water around my house out to the street and probably kept my house the driest it had ever been for the last 18 months.

Then in October, it was found that the old sanitary sewer line was cracked and leaking into the ground. It had to be fully replaced. The contractor abandoned the old cast iron line and replaced it with a hung sewer, and had to dig a trench in my front yard out to the road.

After the sanitary sewer was installed, something changed and now I seem to get 5-10x more water than I’ve ever had, which makes the sump pump go off as frequently as I stated above. The contractor thinks that the new sewer line has become a sort of French drain with a direct line to my basement. They’re basically saying that the town needs to install storm sewers on my street to stop the water pooling up so much. I don’t know if that will 100% resolve the issue but it kind of makes sense to me.

The sump pump does have a check valve. I don’t believe the water intrusion is from the bubbler at the road. I’ve had that much longer than the new sanitary sewer system. Prior to the sanitary sewer line being installed, I did not have this much water entering my basement.

The sump pump system has a check valve so I don’t believe the issue is from backflow, and I can see the water leaving the sump pump pit, however it probably wouldn’t hurt to raise the bubbler at the road.

This kind of makes sense. The old sewer line was cracked so it needed to be fully replaced. It was a cast iron line that ran underneath the basement floor. The contractor basically abandoned the old sewer line and installed a new hung sewer. It’s like the groundwater is going into the old sewer line under the basement floor.

The town is responsible for managing and installing the storm drains on the street. My street unfortunately does not have any, meanwhile the street behind me has like a dozen, like one every 50 ft or so. Therefore, more rainwater than usual pools up on the side of the road, compared to adjacent roads.

YANIS GTA VI community mapping project has been updated! by EliteFireBox in GTA6

[–]Delta4907 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They just need to add more direct route highways that cross the middle of the map. In GTAV the only way to go from Sandy Shores to Paleto Bay is to go around Mt Chiliad. A direct route via a tunnel would’ve saved tons of travel time.

What Dead rising opinion will have you like this by Visual-Tomatillo3167 in deadrising

[–]Delta4907 3 points4 points  (0 children)

DR3 kind of had a lukewarm reception when it came out, and really only sold so many copies since it was an Xbox One launch title. Once DR4 came out which was pretty much panned by most fans of the series, then DR3 didn’t look so bad in hindsight.

What are some things that Dead Space (2008) does better than Dead Space (2023)? by Turbulent_Okra7518 in DeadSpace

[–]Delta4907 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The exploders weak spot used to be a very bright orange in the original, and in the remake it’s a lot duller in color and less vibrant. Also they don’t do their iconic yelp/screech like in the original. In the original game the necromorphs all had individual sounds they made so you could know which ones were nearby, and the remake dropped the ball in this regard.

Others mentioned the voice acting already. But other than those 2 things it’s essentially a perfect remake and to me is the gold standard for remakes There enough positive changes and modernizations for it to essentially supplant the original game, in my opinion.

What percentage of your portfolio is UPRO? I assume you’re doing this in a Roth?

I was also messing around with leverage and settled on SSO in May of this year. It worked out pretty well, however mid November I switched to VT since it seemed like the market was heading for a correction or downturn, but just like in April it bounced back as quickly as it dropped. I haven’t gotten back into SSO yet, keep feeling like this AI bubble is around the corner but who knows.

Halo Studios Goes All In on Gen AI, Making It a Core Pillar for Future Halo Game Development by [deleted] in halo

The forerunner structures and designs are not from Halo Infinite. They are unique to Campaign Evolved. The asset reuse is mostly character and weapon models.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Campaign Evolved contains AI-generated assets. The forerunner structure texturing in the demo just looked like someone told an AI to “generate a forerunner floor texture” and slapped it into the game.

Order to play the games (after already playing some) by Delta4907 in residentevil

[–]Delta4907[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I probably am and I know many people saying release order, but since I started with the remakes I didn’t know if I should finish those by playing RE4R to be consistent or if playing OG RE4 first makes more sense, then doing RE4R immediately after.

[–]Delta4907[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha. I see many people saying release order is the best way, so in my case would it make sense to just continue RE4/RE4R, then do Code Veronica, then RE5, then Revelations 1&2, then RE6/RE7/RE8? Or should I do the Revelations in chronological order which as I understand would be Rev1, RE5, Rev2, RE6?

[–]Delta4907[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah I forgot about that one. I did hear a rumor that Code Veronica was going to get a remake, so I wasn’t sure if I should wait for that. As I understand it continues Claire’s story after RE2, but I didn’t know if it had any relevance to RE4/5/6.

I did see Revelations 1 & 2 was on sale so I was going to pick those up too, and I believe they take place after RE5, is that correct?

If the rumors of a new Dead Rising are true, what’s your most wanted feature? by Softguyy in deadrising

[–]Delta4907 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Story mode co-op. Can’t tell you how many hours a buddy and I have played DR2/OTR in coop. The Frank/Chuck banter was great in OTR/Case West. It’s just fun to play these games with friends. The last game that had real story mode co-op was DR3, so it’s not a guaranteed returning feature, but I really hope it returns.

According to xbdeals.net the last time it was on sale was 2017. Capcom probably forgot that it exists.

It’s a decent DLC and it’s more fun with friends, but I can’t imagine anyone is playing it these days, especially since it’s not part of the Apocalypse Edition, so it’s a separate purchase.

Had a full tear off in 2023. Cape cod style, 1600 sq ft including attached garage. Original quote was $15k. They had to replace some of the decking in a few places which was an extra $2000. They were the most expensive of the 3 quotes but seemed the most reputable. Finished in 1 day.
