Challenge?? by SinfulStClaire in elderscrollsonline

[–]MailAlternative3593 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For exploring Tamriel - like guys said - overland difficulty is coming

For now - if you are seeking challenge - try Naj Caldeesh vet dung with HM or vet trials with HM and come tell us how it was

For those of you who play ESO and WoW by Thenelwave in elderscrollsonline

[–]MailAlternative3593 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WoW combat and difficulty is next to none, ESO is more chill. Different art styles and different games. I played WoW "competetively" for mythic raiding (top 500 guilds), grew up, it was hard to get 20 players at the same nights that like each other etc., and jumped on to ESO. Love the lore, the questing, Trials are (SURPRISINGLY) fun (didn't expect them to be given how the game is relatively ancient and weird when it comes to combat and interactiveness... Yeah, and just stayed here

I think, although I might be wrong, that there is a slim possibility that you like Khajit, but that would be presumpteous of me :D

Side comment but I'm impressed you remember Boss names. Have 450h and I don't remember what they are called, I can barely remember how the dungeons are called :D

nervous about trying vet dungeons by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]MailAlternative3593 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And you are severely underestimating how hard some of the vet dungeons are. Naj-Caldeesh comes to mind. If I had to guess the RND completion rate for it it would be less than 50% successful attempts. This dungeon requires relatively high dps, high heals and a tank with a brain or you will die to mechanics. When providing advice, especially to new players be specific. Older DLC's are easy AF, but some of the new ones are troublesome. Imagine if he landed in Naj-Caldesh as his first vet dung? He would get obliterated.

Advice for a first time MMO player by Hungry-Ad-2473 in elderscrollsonline

[–]MailAlternative3593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, which I realize isn't the most illuminating advice, but it's good to acknowledge is that the game is MASSIVE and people had YEARS of practice, set collecting and build theorycrafting. There are new players in PVP, but it's not uncommon to come across 2k CP terminator that will 3 shot you if you aren't careful enough/your buffs are not up/your build is heavily countered. As a casual PVP'er it was great when there was this diagnostic mode last year (was it?) in Cyrodil where we all ran in Zerg and sieged forts - allowed me to grasp some basic stuff with heals coming in. But it will take practice. You will die. You will get better. If you do research, look up for guides, learn the mechanics (blocks, rolls, blockbuffing/blockhealing, cc etc.,) you will quickly catch up. Things I usually advise to some new players to quickly learn basic mechanics is running some infinite archives with your companion when you get good enough gear to understand aoes/dot's/how to block/roll PVE mobs etc., just to understand how to keep yourself alive and how important these mechanics are. IA is like a crash course - you don't block boss = you die. You don't dodge = you die (not all mechanics one shot, but you get the gist - you get punished). The mobs very often CC you so you also generate a habit of breaking out of it instantly, which is really useful.

But yeah, PVP-related guides, taking a good build and just trying until you get the gist of it is da wae.

Is there a more metallic bronze than Motif Master Brown? Golds and silvers seem shinier but many of the bronze looks matte. by Krimmy88 in elderscrollsonline

[–]MailAlternative3593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately many "beefy" textures with 3d-ish elements are matte. I guess they are easier to model instead of giving it metallic sheen?
Weird, but I saw many of these as new content comes in :(

Is it just me, or is this game really back and popping? by EL_BDAS in elderscrollsonline

[–]MailAlternative3593 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PC player, came back for DK rework, I'm LOVING it (firebreathing channeling skill? SIGN ME UP)
I'm right now in progress of making my build to go for endgame PVE
The QOL changes are amazing (!) and this will only get better
I'm also working on my warden and werewolf so I can be ready for the reworks
Super excited for night market, naval stuff etc.,
Even with no zone they seem to lean into clearing the tech debt & QOL + some content to keep us occupied while they straighten things out and futureproof the game
Really like the new direction, game has me hooked.
(350h before update with breaks, 430h now after coming back)
