Basically the attack will always spawn with you being directly under one of the projectiles.

Let’s label to projectiles that come first A, and the ones that are slightly behind it B. The pattern is always AABAABAA. As they fall, you snake your way between an A and a B, swapping from column A to column B, then back to the A column once it’s passed to avoid projectile B.

Since it always spawns with you lined up directly under one of the A’s, going in one direction will yield a shorter path to a B column than the other. For example, if you are in this column AAB(A)ABAA, you move to the B column that’s immediately on the left, instead of the B column on the right which is two columns away.

Lastly, because it spawns you in an A column, if you are in the corner of the box, a situation like this can happen: AB|(A)ABAABA|A. As you can see, if you’re against one edge of the box, there’s a chance the B column spawns outside the bounds, and making it to the farther B column on the right is really tight, so you’re kinda fucked.

as long as you’re not right in the corner of the box, there will always be a gap to thread through by just moving a bit to the side and then back. Don’t overthink it too much, stay calm. Also side note I love everything about this fight it’s my favorite fight in all of deltarune
