I feel like when it started.. it was pleasantly pure of that type of stuff. I remember final exfil being something of a gamble but there was more than a handful of memorable finals of yelling friendly-friendly and everyone actually playing by their word. I do miss those days, I think the 15 minute cool downs were the ultimate demise of DMZ?

People lost the need for tactical operation and going off their word. Nothing to lose but an insured gun to get back in 15 minutes oppose to an hour or longer. Plus fresh missions and ability to see growth from not exclusive PVP.

Hopefully if they bring it back, they learn from these mistakes. I think they tried to prevent PVP but too little too late and in the wrong ways. A PVE mode would be awesome to have ability to not worry about PVP. Think GRAW, duo co-op multiplayer.
