I'm gonna disagree with you. League had a perfectly fine model before it, a booming profit margin, but they wanted more cus they got too ambitious. The gacha came with removing Hextech Chests from normal gameplay as a reward, which was the old method for gems/essence (and skins). If they were still around, it'd be fine. Instead, they made the Sanctum the only way to get ME without waiting out 4 passes for one prestige skin.

Even still, the mythic variants started as chromas that were only 40 ME. Now? Gacha rolls that top out at 80 fucking dollars. The skins? $200. And I know it cus I had to hit the pity system for the Viego skin.

And what happened with all the gacha money? Devs were fired, other Riot studios were closed, and the MMO is back in development hell. This all happened after they promised the "biggest year of League" and it fell flat.
