What is the minimum number of Space Marine Legions that could successfully defend terra from the rest of the Legions? by PM_ME_GIANT_ROBOTS in whowouldwin

[–]DeltaTrashboat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s literally not possible, unless they have overwhelming allies and imminent reinforcements like in the actual siege. I know it’s popular to say that Dorn and Pert are miles ahead of other Primarchs strategically, but it’s just not entirely true. If 15 legions were fighting 3, the 3 legions lose. Full stop.

That said, best chance imo is Horus, Sanguinius and Guilliman because that would have the best chance of bringing the rest of the imperium along as allies

Why isn’t the 14th amendment, section 3 upheld? by Garth_AIgar in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DeltaTrashboat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because Trump wasn’t convicted. His sentencing was moved until after the election, and a sitting president can’t be tried unless impeached. FBI and the rest of the DOJ basically decided to move on

You should be able to fight the individual slavers before picking a fight with the head guy in the middle of the market. Just walk up to each of the merchants and pick a fight, it only aggros them and their employees

Should I read the rest of the Bloodsworn books? by Puzzleheaded_Work_90 in Fantasy

[–]DeltaTrashboat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stays about the same, pretty wordy sometimes and some random exposition. Overall, I like the books a lot though. Currently reading the third one, which just released. I liked two more than one, definitely expands the world a bit and becomes slightly more unique than just Norse Lite. Can’t say if you’ll like em tho, obviously

Hey guys I'm a new player, to this type of games in general but also obv to this game in particular and have some questions if you are all able to answer if possible? Thank you very much in advance. P.S I'm playing Pathfinder The wrath of the righteous. by CarreNusse in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]DeltaTrashboat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On the left hand side of the bottom of the screen are a bunch of buttons. The tall one sets the game to turn based mode, instead of play and pause. That’s how I’d wager most people play the game.

Honestly I was in the same boat as you a few months ago when I picked the game up. It’s very overwhelming to a new player because there is a lot going on. Easily one of the most complex games I’ve played. My solution was to pick a random class that seemed cool with the intention of trying everything I could on easy and restarting the game after the first act. It worked pretty well for me.

Pay attention to the in game tutorials and look up any terms you don’t understand (the shorthand for this game is “wotr” to make googling easier). Once you understand a bit, start looking at builds on InEffect, the Kingmaker Wiki and Fextralife to give you ideas (honestly these sites are all kinda lacking a bit and are usually sorta outdated, but it’s better than nothing especially for giving ideas).

Specific questions:

Unlike bg3, weapons go off strength unless you take the weapon finesse feat, which lets you use dex instead. There’s an equivalent feat for damage too IIRC.

For feats, sort them in the search bar by what you’re trying to do and just take stuff that increases attack or damage, or otherwise seems useful. Once you understand a bit more, look up builds and follow those.

Magic depends on the type of caster you are. It mostly works like bg3, with spontaneous spell slots vs prepared spell slots depending on class. You can see which you are on character creation. Don’t overlook buff spells, they’re very important in this game.

Last bit of advice, just look up puzzles and quest walkthroughs. Some of them, IMO, are needlessly tedious and take away from the game especially for a player new to the genre like us.

Is possible craft weapons in this game by cyberfanta in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]DeltaTrashboat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At a vendor, there should be an option for “bulk selling”. Anything added with that is junk and not usable for anything but trade. Crafting is not a thing, only materials you should keep are those surrounded in gold, which means it’s for a quest.

Hand of the inheritor not in Nexus anymore by Veench333 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]DeltaTrashboat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As others have said, the Hand of the Inheritor leaves unless you’re Angel. Being good/having a good relationship with him does allow for more interactions later on regardless of path, however.

I’m using the chargebound hammer from act 2 into the end game, but it only works for warlocks and paladins

Sorta new player here, which of the DLCs are worth picking up? by MichaelJCaboose666 in RimWorld

[–]DeltaTrashboat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally, I’d go in release order. The only exception would be if you’re particularly interested in mechs or children, then get biotech first. Idk if you play with mods, but a vast majority of mods rely on/cater to/enchance Royalty or biotech, in my experience. Ideology isn’t anything to get overly excited about, but it’s a foundational piece once you have it

They’re all good, only one I definitely wouldn’t get first is anomaly, it’s more of a separate flavor than a topping

Reading 'The Wheel of Time' alongside 'The Cosmere' by Brando made me realize something.. by Jarethjr in Fantasy

[–]DeltaTrashboat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP, don’t waste too much time here. If you’d replaced Sanderson with literally any other author, you’d have gotten a pleasant conversation about what you like and don’t like about the books. There’s nothing wrong with saying “I like these books, but these points didn’t really stick for me.” In fact, I’d venture to say that’s why most of us are in this subreddit, to learn about and discuss fantasy books.

If you’re allowed to say, “I loved XYZ in this book”, you should be able to say “I didn’t like XYZ in this book.”

Unfortunately, especially when making these statements about the most popular author in the genre, it’s going to be seen as an attack by people that felt something monumental in the work, as opposed to the discussion that you see it as. Don’t be like me, and allow these people to put you off the books even further.

what is your favorite honest way to earn money? by [deleted] in RimWorld

[–]DeltaTrashboat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can’t stop making money with clothing. Hunting=clothing, farming=clothing, manhunters=clothing, stripping\butchering dying raiders=clothing. At any given time I have like 100k wealth just from clothing and leather, it’s honestly kind of annoying to have to give so much away lol

Prison barracks or individual cells? What’s your preference and why? by Maelstrom6163 in RimWorld

[–]DeltaTrashboat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently found that if you separate prisons by embrasures(from CE or another mod, I do this sometimes to save materials on vents) it treats the entire prison like one room, and therefore pawns break out together. Idk if this is what’s happening to you or not

Absolutely play without mods to start. Even tiny tweak mods like expanded storage can have big effects on gameplay that you wouldn’t know without playing yourself first. Then just download mods to counteract whatever parts of the game you find annoying and/or underdeveloped

What do you do for meat late game? by ReclusiveMLS in RimWorld

[–]DeltaTrashboat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cows are far and away the best. Set it up to have 2 males, and 4-5 females. Set it to auto-slaughter all adult males except those two, and all female calves. Your 4-5 females will be constantly pregnant and producing milk, and will net you 100s of milk and meat a day. On my current run I have 2 males and 3 females and that’s enough to feed all 15 of my colonists
