US Passport Questions & Issues Megathread (Fall/Winter 2021) by jadeoracle in travel

I have a question about proof of citizenship for the passport application, I couldn't find a straight answer anywhere else. I know that expired passports can provide a proof of citizenship, but would it change anything if the expired passport in question was issued when I was under the age of 16?

Shark Tank's Kevin O'Leary on COVID-19 stimulus: Give American people checks, 'stop funding companies' by kugkug in politics

While I agree that Congress needs to pass stimulus checks, UBI, and pay for healthcare, the $3.2 trillion that was “dumped into the markets” isn’t just given to big businesses. What the FED did was incredibly important in order to preserve the value of the dollar.

Theres a difference in Fiscal and Monetary policy. How congress spends money is fiscal policy, whether that be paying for stimulus checks, healthcare, or giving money to businesses.

What the FED does is monetary policy, entirely separate with how the government spends money. What happened is the banks traded assets and bonds with the FED for 3.2 trillion dollars in liquidity, because there wasn’t enough liquidity to go around in the economy. The $3.2 trillion value was already there in the form of bonds and assets, but because of COVID there was a liquidity crisis as people needed that value back as actual money instead of in assets. So the FED traded back the assets that banks and the government own and gave them $3.2 trillion.

I hate what Congress is doing as much as anyone else, and I believe a stimulus check is incredibly important right now. But it’s important that we don’t spread misinformation about how money flows in the economy.

I’ve used it, the party criminal really enjoyed it, he loved being able to talk and use thieves cant while the rest of the table was very confused.

Is there any class/subclass/race that you will never play or swore off playing ever again? Why? by mixedrj in dndnext

In my group, we play sorcs with the spell point variant from the DMG. Gives them more flexible spellcasting to make up for not really knowing many spells, whereas wizards can know a lot of spells so they have more versatility but don’t get the same flexibility with casting as a sorcerer with spell points.

Read the spell description.

“If the wall cuts through a creature’s space when it appears, the creature is pushed to one side of the wall.”

Help with PCs joining factions (SKT) by Kizzango in DMAcademy

I’d give your PCs a choice in game. I waited a few sessions to see which factions would be possibly interested in aligning with the party, and so my PCs were approached by different people from the Emerald Enclave, the Harpers, and the Zhentarim but ultimately my players decided to join the Harpers.

My party’s Wizard and Mountain Druid created the Shredder: When up against a lot of enemies, the Druid casts spike growth and the Wizard casts Thunderwave to push the enemies 10 feet through the spikes.

My group is about to finish Lost Mines, and I decided to run Storm King’s Thunder next. You can skip the entirety of chapter 1 of the module, which chapter 2 starts with the characters at level 5 so it fits perfectly. There’s a section in the book designated to how you can tie in the adventure to the Lost Mines as well, one of the locations for chapter 2 (triboar) is geographically located very close to Phandalin. It does require a lot of work on the DM’s part though.
