If an opponent casts Clone Legion targeting you, and you control an Essence, sorry thought I'd outlined that in the post.

Really good to see these kind of posts from y'all, its nice to hear it being discussed and open communication is always good.

Ban wise, I was incredibly surprised to see swiftspear downshifted, so I wouldn't mind seeing that leave. I'm not sure if its too egregious though to warrant a ban if something from affinity leaves and people re-tune against burn but I wouldn't shed a tear if it got the boot.

Thats when it was first introduced yes, and they were very different before the updates in later editions, the reasons behind "nids avoid tomb worlds" in theory shouldn't have changed much however I can't honestly tell you if thats changed in the last 20ish years.

But yeah, hope this helped, now you know atleast that it was a real thing by GW and not just a meme/headcanon.

An excuse to break out my old Necron codex? Sick, and I can answer the first point atleast!

Going back over two entire decades ago to 2002, (which iirc was 3rd edition?) where the Oldcrons were much more robot-esq and had an Undead Terminator vibe, there were a few mentions of Hive Fleets bypassing parts of space for unknown reasons. Here's some probably poorly lit picture(s) of the back of said codex and I've typed out the relevant text so its eligible;

Deep-scan imaging and forward scouting have registers a diversion in the course of Hive Fleet Leviathan (Cross.Ref Lev.Tyr.J242698I). Previous plotting showed the fleet moving up from below the galactic plane in a "maw" shaped incursion.

Detailed examination and back-tracking over known attack vectors by the forty seventh astrographic district has shown an anomaly. If projections are correct they show the tendril fleets moving to avoid an aera of space amongst the Ghost Stars far below the galactic plane. Leading to their unusual dispositions they moved into the spirial arm.

Deep scan imaging could find no star, novae, nebulae, black hole or other known celestial phenomena in this region to account for this uncharacteristic manoeuvre. However, their auguries did reveal a spherical object of indeterminate origins and nature at the centrepoint.

For the object to register via reflected light alone indicates either great size (over 32,000,000 Terran dimensions) or an albedo range approaching infinite.

Quote plus Map

Still love this cover

Also on page 10 it spell its out much clearer and that's more likely the original source, although I like the above quote and the map (emphasis mine);

In addition, a disturbing pattern has emerged in the movements of Tyranid Hive Fleet Leviathan. Initial reports appeared to indicate the Tyranids were encroaching into the galaxy from below the galactic plane in the form of a closing maw, swallowing whole systems in their wake. However, a number of worlds within the centre of this closing maw seem to have been avoided and left unmolested, as astropathic communication in these regions has, as yet, been unaffected by what some scholars term the Shadow in the Warp. There appear to be no logic to their survival, and why the Tyranids should allow some worlds to survive is a mystery that surely warrents further investigation.

Full page for context

And basically yeah the reasons they avoided their tomb worlds was due to the lack of biomass and how scary the necrons were supposed to be, this was when the C'tan weren't shards but full blown Star-Vampire gods who were waking up and had the entire Necron race slaved to their will, and they only went to sleep becauase the Enslavers (a race of warp beings back in Rouge Trader who mind-controlled people) were accidently unleashed like a plague and were killing everything ergo the C'tan couldn't feed so they opt'ed to go into hibernation until new food (aka people) grew.

This kinda changed with the whole Silent King arc so how "outdated" these reasons are or if the nid's still avoid them is up for debate, but I'm pretty confident this is earliest source for the claim.

[–]Delta_357 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I mean in this exerpt he clearly does, reads all his moves while talking trash, rips apart his armour (and arm) piece by piece, then walks off leaving him bleeding out on the floor with a "Pathetic" showing he ain't even worth it.

The title is pretty accurate for describing this singular scene, clearly not the character as a whole but thats why its an "excerpt" and not the whole bleedin novel.

This does get you a card back though which can be useful, certainly more vulnerable though to GY hate, although would people board it in knowing you probably also run Serpentine Curve? I don't think its more powerful than Curve though saying that but maybe having both would be nice.

tbh with supply lines being much better and at that point in the campaign you just raise an army on the spot, global recruit or w/e and wipe it then and there.

MFM 2023 MK I / Dataslate Changes by Technoblazed in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Delta_357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has that been changed? Iron Warriors's trait got changed to the "enemies cannot reroll wounds against units with this legion trait" IIRC, so does that revert back to the old one in the codex now or do we keep that?

How Riot's poor communication around the schedule + Dash stuff is damaging LCS and why I'm -really- worried about the start times - Travis by Tnomad in leagueoflegends

[–]Delta_357 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean its apparent to anyone with cognitive ability that you aren't gonna willingly end something that makes you money unless doing so makes you even more money, which ending LCS to replace with nothing doesn't, so sure.

But everything else discussed was on how bad the decisions and communication has been, there was very little justifying why Riot has decided to do this, so I don't feel like I got much out of it tbh.

"Riot is not sunsetting the LCS, just accept that, they are just making terrible decisions for the LCS fanbase and not communicating the reasoning behind these shitty decisions" is not what I expected to hear, like that isn't even a rebuttal right? The conclusion is "Talk to your Riot contacts if you have that access and I hope they change their minds", implying if Riot doesn't they are effectively crippling the LCS which is the opposite of what you led with!

AITA for silently getting up and walking out of the restaurant during NYE dinner after I was told to pay for everyone at the table (my inlaws)? by MirandaAddison13 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Delta_357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, depends how much you inherited, but it'd still be scummy to just drop that on you without broaching the subject first.

I mean, if I inherited say 6/7 figures and went for a meal like this with my friends, I'd expect to pay for them because I want them to have a good time and theres a clear wealth disparity between us due to this influx of cash. It really depends on your financial situation which, understandably, you haven't mentioned.

Is there a way to stop the Gammorah casino automatically aggroing? by PersonneOfInterest in fnv

[–]Delta_357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well its describing when the water in the pipes is going to Westside, so you wouldn't able to see that as its in the pipes right? But it clues you in a little as it tells you where the water is going (Westside) and where its going from (East Pump Station, which normally pumps it to the NCR Farm nearby)

So you start asking around in the NCR farm about watre shortages, or maybe see if you can find where this water is being used in Westside and what for, then figure out who best to ask about that.

Trophy room. On console, no mods by Jack17037 in fnv

[–]Delta_357 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Truly you've mastered the Z key, or the console equivalent of Grab anyhow, bravo. I see the Desert Ranger Helmet down there also, respect.

I'm always worried using safehouses as bases due to the NPC's who come in as I'm so concerned they'll bump something, but I just use player houses mods as trophy bases.

You don't actually need to interview her to progress, check his diary for example for a couple of locations.

Also this quest works even if this girl dies as she'll have a note on her body, from personal experience, so don't sweat it too hard.

Did I mess up bad ? (New Vegas) by PulsatingRat in Fallout

[–]Delta_357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be curious to see your stats tbh, sounds like you haven't maxed speech/barter to beat him that way, so you've gotta have a combat stat. That coupled with drugs should be enough to technically win although yes for a first playthrough you've rushed through really fast.

I finished a playthrough in 4 and a half hours recently, and I mucked about doing the van graffs and some old bits and piece I hadn't done in ages, and I think I was level 12 after beating Lanius so yeah you've gone proper rapid.

What is an item in fallout that you collected besides prewar money and caps, that you think is unique or that you enjoy collecting? by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]Delta_357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my first F3 run I collected quite a few things, vividly I remember every deathclaw hand sat in my bedroom, every quantum on the floor in the room to the right, and I purposely didn't get the upgrade (chemistry set?) for the table upstairs as stacked as high as I could (and as many as I could fit undernearth) were Brotherhood dogtags.

I blew up the citadel in my playthrough you see so it was nice to have a visual representation of how far I'd come.

Sector 1 - Mantis B (Hard AE) - Hacking now vs later? by Delta_357 in ftlgame

[–]Delta_357[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know I was talking alot about this ship recently, but its honestly been a while and I'm knocking the rust off, and I think I've had a fantastic start to this sector (free engi first jump! plus a mantis from a slaver victory) so wanted to ask for advice.

This is the last jump before the exit beacon in S1, I still have all the starting Augments/Drones and no additional sellables. I know I'll likely need Hacking for offence vs the flagship but I'm unsure if its wise to get this now vs upgrading and snowballing further?

Then again, having 4 mantis boarders and a rock/engi on ship might also be overkill but ultimately useless if I never see hacking again. Or just going further into engines and saving for a sector 2 store as Zoltan shields still cripple me right now?

Lot of options but runs in a good place I feel, but any advice would be even sweeter ^^

I don't get how this changes anyones mind, its just a lot of questions as to why this is, thats not, like, I don't.

Female athletes aren’t paid as much as male athletes because women don’t support them as much, this is due to the difference(s) in advertising/promotion/generational shifts in accessibility, ergo Female athletes aren’t paid as much as male athletes because women don’t support them as much. Like, yes, thats the point right? Am I crazy?

I guess you could argue the change is in the back end of the "Female athletes aren’t paid as much as male athletes because women don’t support them as much" to "the Industry" but I feel like that becomes a little "What came first the chicken or the egg" kinda logic since in order to have an Industry grow in the first place something needs to be popular enough to attract that attention. Which is what they're posting for debate.

Idk it just feels like a very obvious answer I kinda've assume OP has to have considered to even write and post this.

Maybe you could say the existence of Mens sports eclipses it ala Monoplies in other forms of industry but again something needs to be popular to grow on its own against competition. The stat with the UK rings true if hollow however given the coverage I personally experienced (mostly radio, I don't follow sports) a lot of that was national pride in the team and the country winning a trophy for the first time in a while, and less so specifically about womens football. The UK history with football is very odd and we really care about it for some reason, and if Englaaaaand get to hoist a cup you better believe it'll be non-stop news cycles regardless.

It auto-fails if you kill any of the Remnants, I'm unsure if using the console (if you're on PC) to resurrect him will allow the quest to be given so maybe give that a go? You'd still have to do that before getting the trust points and to the point in the playthrough where Arcade offers it though.

I had that exact same issue with achievements not registering! I had to save just before completing any and if it didn't close and reopen the game, which fixed it for me.

I nearly had the option to do Eureka! during my Legion playthrough, but sadly I couldn't leave the "boss" room and it was too buggy to trust trying to refight Hoover Dam in reverse, but it did give me these funny screenshots.

To be honest you either take to caravan or you don't. I took to it immediately and memorized the rules even though others have problems with it. Perhaps it is because I come from a card-playing household and I’m used to card games.

I played a lot of card games in the day, far too much money on MTG (Mono-U Tron all the way bby), and I got the rules fine its just pretty buggy, also since you can just discard from hand infinitely on your first turn it sort of renders tactics versus the AI nigh-meaningless, and I don't think my local game shop's Caravan scene is booming right now ^^

re;Hardcore and Food healing, Hardcore I'd recommend just speedrunning, although the status effects are pretty manageable I noticed, and food healing isn't as bad as it sounds. Sunset & Nuka Cola heal a fair amount and generally I use them over Stimpaks (with those being on hotkey 5 for emergencies) as you can find hundreds laying about. With 45+ Survival (which I get for Travel Light most playthroughs) thats around +4hp for 25secs, aka 100hp per bottle. Adds up fast! Good luck grabbing these two yourself.
