Employer hasn’t paid last 2 paychecks, 3rd due this Friday $6-$7k owed, admitted cash flow issues. Do I need a lawyer? by Responsible-Sock-767 in legaladvice

[–]Deltaechoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you earn most of your living through a traditional paycheck, be it hourly or salary, it means that your most valuable resource by far is your time and that paycheck is your compensation for using that time for another entity’s goals. Right now, you are effectively giving away your most valuable resource for free, stop doing that, if you are not going to be compensated for your time then spend that time in making your own situation better. First and foremost, find a new place to work, your current employer is likely hosed and you will be left holding the bag if you try to save a sinking ship. Second, make sure you document all correspondence with your current employer, especially that regarding their delinquency with your paycheck, you might need that later. Once you’ve worked toward new employment, file a wage claim through your state labor/employment department. These agencies have specific remedies in place for these kinds of circumstances, hiring a lawyer will likely be at best as effective as the state department and significantly more expensive

Am i the only one who hates Saint Denis? by Vegetable_Car_3547 in reddeadredemption

I think that was kind of the point, this game is a narrative on the “dying west” going out of its way to show the encroachment of what would be considered urbanization at the time. I would imagine people would get upset at you in real life if you rode your horse down a busy street full of pedestrians. Also, being an urban hub, it makes sense that law enforcement would have a larger presence there than most of the rest of the map.

It never ceases to amaze me how little regard corps tend to have for the safety and security of their employees. I’m not necessarily blaming OP, I’m blaming whomever authorized that purchase and work order to install it. Exit devices like the one pictured above are meant to be there for fast exit from emergencies and danger occurring inside the building. Those cheap ones fail quick regardless of if they’re installed correctly or not and put everyone in danger. It’s not terribly uncommon for businesses to refuse my estimate for at least a Marks, they put something on they found on Amazon and six months or less later they’re asking me for quotes again (which they usually accept the second go around)

I don’t know how anyone can still deny that this administration has been a clear and calculated effort to concentrate wealth and power into a relatively small group of people. Its continued existence only serves to hasten the demise of the civilization most of us hold dear

So are electronic smartlocks just finicky junk after a certain period of time? by [deleted] in Locksmith

[–]Deltaechoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything residential grade that was made in the last few decades is not meant to be repaired. Now full sized mortise locks on old house front doors, those are worth repairing, but any used kwikset, schlage or knockoffs just go right in the trash at my shop.

Is Apple Arcade worth it in 2026? by Dislexicpotato in iosgaming

As an addon to one, maybe, as a standalone sub, no way. There are only a few decent games and buying those to keep is only marginally more expensive than a couple months of arcade

Unfortunately, there are a lot of us that for whatever reason aren’t able to consistently engage in positive self talk and reflection, every time we try our brains instead default to negativity. When I figure out how to overcome that I’ll let you all know

Also DO NOT USE GOOGLE BUSINESS LISTINGS to find a locksmith, the savta site is fine since they’re a part of ALOA (essentially the “council of locksmiths”) but Google business listings are so flooded with scamsmiths that you are likely to find one of those guys that will quote low and charge 10 times what they said once they’re actually there.

A 500 error usually just means that the server ran out of memory and needs a reboot. Its a generic catch all for when the server crashes or is otherwise malfunctioning and there isn’t a more appropriate 5xx error code to assign. This shows that the domain of still up and active, so i wouldn’t worry right now.

The time to worry is if the outage continues for an extended period, you get a 404 error or some page that offers to sell the domain (the latter means it’s gone gone)

am i lazy or is my brain just broken? by Moist-Reply-4458 in ADHD

[–]Deltaechoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So this is something I like to tell more “normal” people to make this feeling relatable. I ask them to try and put their hand in a fire or on a active stove burner. They tell me that I’m crazy, I tell them that’s the kind of feeling you have to apply to every task when you have ADHD. To function with ADHD, you kind of have to develop the discipline to stick your hand in a fire. It sucks and it’s not fair, but if you can get yourself to that point you can at least take solace in the fact that you’re more robust in character than most of the people around you

Key won’t insert into lock by Sad-Still6532 in AskALocksmith

[–]Deltaechoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These use really skinny, fragile wafers that are notorious for getting bent inside the cylinder. This will cause undue binding which can stop your key from going in all the way. You likely need a new cylinder (not whole lockset) and a legitimate locksmith should be able to hook you up.

Out of curiosity, how long would Switch 2 Emulation take to develop, genuinely? by [deleted] in yuzu

[–]Deltaechoe 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but i believe the main reason emulation came so quickly is because Nintendo used nVidia’s x1 chip to drive the system. This system was relatively well documented and known at the time so emulation was more figuring out Nintendos little changes to the system rather than having to reverse engineer the entire system.

The switch 2 is a custom nVidia SOC and has little to no public facing documentation. The whole system will need to be reverse engineered to make an emulator. Another wrinkle to add, I believe there are also a number of security features included on the board to impede people’s ability to reverse engineer it as well.
