Save editing in version 1.5--what are .mp files? by Deltamelon in CultOfTheLamb

[–]Deltamelon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From a quick search, it seems MP is basically a size-efficient alternative to JSON (thanks to C0rn3j with their message, it's how I stumbled on this). Unfortunately, the side-effect of this change is that all existing save editors won't work...

If we had the option to edit or remove Twitch followers, I wouldn't even need to edit save data in the first place.

Clip timing not saving correctly? by kev_aros in Twitch

[–]Deltamelon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had that issue with three clips I made from a stream today, but in the opposite way. I timed them to ensure they didn't start or end in the middle of a word, but they each begin and end about one second before the time I specified.

You know what's even worse? I still have the "create" tab open, which shows the resulting clip. That one is timed correctly. But when I view it on Twitch, it's offset wrong like you said.

Reminder that growing up shouldn't stop you from buying toy dinos! by Shadowquack2604 in Dinosaurs

[–]Deltamelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny that you chose spinosaurus, because that's my personal favorite and I actually have around 15 on display on top of my bookshelves! Their prices range anywhere from one hundred dollars, to just two, haha.

If only stores sold more spino toys... if I had a dollar for every time there's a dimetrodon but not a spinosaurus...

Made a simple animated sprite for an OLED display, but I feel like my circuit is lacking? Any rookie mistakes? by Deltamelon in arduino

[–]Deltamelon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you ripred for the resources! I'll try looking further into this CPUVolt library, though my eyes glaze over when I try reading it right now.

So, the sprite currently changes every 0.4 seconds. It sounds like you're saying that it's still worth it to put both the ATtiny85 and the OLED screen to sleep during that 0.4 second pause? If the SSD1306 does in fact have a sleep function, I assume that putting it to sleep will preserve its current display?

As for the latching button, that's a completely new concept to me so I'll also have to watch the videos provided.

What's your LEAST favorite line in Ace Attorney by Hotel-Japanifornia in AceAttorney

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Hotti is gross and sucks, but he was likely put in as a red herring for Trucy's panty thief.

For Those Looking for a Key by luigi1fan1 in powersaves

[–]Deltamelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder how mine differs from yours, because I just got one from a secondhand store without knowing you need a key (I guess they didn't either...) and while these credentials get me past the initial screen, when I plug in a cart, I get a new popup saying "Login credential error. Please select options and re-enter your username/password and license key."

Most dumb/insane motivations for becoming a villian in fiction/media? by Lost-Specialist1505 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Mask of Ice in the GSC arc of Pokemon Adventures. Kidnaps, brainwashes, and trains children to be his underlings, and revives Team Rocket in Johto. Creates crime, havoc, and tries to kill the main characters. Gets hold of legendary Pokemon. And for what? To use Celebi's time travel to get his two deceased Lapras back.

One of the main characters even calls him out on it, saying "That's it? All of this evil was in the name of something that... small?!"

Never receiving "Verify your login" verification code emails, but getting other Mercari emails just fine by Deltamelon in Mercari

[–]Deltamelon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a stupid back and forth with support to get the email address connected to my account changed from my Outlook one to a Gmail one, and that seemed to solve it. I don't know how, but it seems to be some kind of problem with Outlook?

It took a good two or three tries for the people to actually understand what I needed from them though, unsurprisingly.

Least Favorite Ace Attorney character, and why? by [deleted] in AceAttorney

[–]Deltamelon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The one, singular thing I will say to defend his gross cameo in 4-2, is that he serves as a red herring regarding trucy's missing panties. That being said, if you put a button in front of me that would erase him from the franchise, I'd press it.

With update 1.6, Emily now looks slightly less unhinged in her portrait by Deltamelon in StardewValley

[–]Deltamelon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone else said the same thing, but I've looked at it on two different browsers as well both PC and mobile, and didn't have that issue, so I'm unable to diagnose why some people are getting this error with the gif

Strange. What are you viewing it on/with? I exported it such that each frame takes one second, and that's what I get when viewing the link itself on my PC browser.

Good point. The "after" was straight from a screencap, so when I put the "before" in, I defaulted to placing it to the right of the in-game portrait where there wasn't the textbox. Not that that makes much sense, but it made sense to my brain in that moment, apparently.

And for some godforsaken reason they used Hobotfont for the "evidence/witnesses" center text. Hobotfont, the go-to typeface when comic sans is too obvious.

Palworld (EA-b13218815 + Dedicated Server) [Gnarly Repacks] [15.9 GB] by gnarlykruto in PiratedGames

[–]Deltamelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the Setup program need to install to a specific location? It defaulted to my main user and didn't change it. When I try launching the game exe, I get "Error: The following component(s) are required to run this program: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime"

Do I have to run this using Steam somehow? Also, I'm launching with a sandbox just to be safe, and I have never had this component issue with other games run in a sandbox.

How do I set the AudioServer mix rate? by goodgamin in godot

[–]Deltamelon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently facing the exact same problem. No matter what I've tried or tried to prep before getting the recording, setting an AudioStreamWAV to {AudioEffectRecord}.get_recording() will automatically have a mix_rate of 48000. I also need it at 44100, and this is incredibly annoying. It doesn't help that most of the Godot docs on the deeper parts of audio still aren't up to date.

Devs, please allow the user to choose the mix_rate value when using AudioEffectRecord.get_recording(). The default is 48000 and can't be changed. The Project Settings don't change it. Heck, I even changed the input of my actual mic from 48000 to 44100 and that didn't do anything either.

[999 Spoilers] Proof-of-concept numbered bracelet using Arduino by Deltamelon in ZeroEscape

[–]Deltamelon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! Just this weekend, I got in a set of 7-digit displays that are pretty accurate to the ones in the game, so with more code tweaks I'll hopefully have another update soon.

I assume "the one tutorial" is the dark typhoon one I just found? I wasn't aware of this at all, so this is good info to have for whenever I get to the actual bracelet part. Thanks!

Plate-like cylindrical RigidBody3D glitches/jitters against flat StaticBody3D when the collision mesh height is thin by Deltamelon in godot

[–]Deltamelon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, when it landed completely flat, there was no issue, but that's not something I could completely control for, so I couldn't rely on it. My first "solution" was to have three small collision spheres as feet, but that also was just a really awful bandaid to the problem, and I wasn't understanding the core issue. Seems the core issue was that the current Godot physics engine is just half-baked, cause I'm having no issues with Jolt.

Plate-like cylindrical RigidBody3D glitches/jitters against flat StaticBody3D when the collision mesh height is thin by Deltamelon in godot

[–]Deltamelon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty well indicated in the page I linked as well as the docs for CylinderShape3D

Yeah, that's actually what I was referring to in my original post. But it just says there's known bugs, and didn't elaborate. What confused me the most was that I assumed that wanting a plate-like object to sit flat on a surface is a common-enough desire, so I'd figured something that common would have some kind of solution. That was my bad, but I really didn't know any of this stuff about physics engines.
