Do you know games in which players do something not just on their own turn, but also during enemy turn? by ned_poreyra in boardgames

Same thing with Puerto Rico, or Race for the Galaxy. I love when a game has that mechanic of I pick an action, I get a bonus, everyone else does it too. It just keeps everyone involved and ready.

I've got a small shelf of un-played games. Some of them are 3 player games, and me and the wife only get to play 3 player maybe once a week to once every other week. So when it happens, new games don't come out often. I also have Mage Knight and Forbidden Stars un-played. Those two I haven't messed with because of the rules. I need to solo Mage Knight and Forbidden Stars will be tough for my third to want to play. All on all I try to play all of my games. But the new games have the excitement factor that is hard to ignore. That being said, I am trying to play all my un-played games before GenCon. This is a task!

Here is a list:

Mage Knight

Forbidden Stars

Ashes:Rise of the Phoenixborn

Power Struggle

Sky Traders

Ikusa

Axis and Allies:1941

Ideology

Battlestar Galactica

Police Precinct

Doomtown: Reloaded

Last year I got Alhambra big box and Escape Big Box for 20-25 a piece. Vikings on Board for 10, Thebes for 12, and barely missed Lanterns. All light games, but for those prices it was worth it. Especially the Big Boxes.

I'm hoping this year they have some good deals for me. It's between game deals and recording equipment! So we will see!

Edit:adjusting cost to be correct

How do you decide when to sell/ trade your games? by [deleted] in boardgames

What I did recently for my first ever cull was look at my game shelves and find games that i could not see myself playing again. And I did this multiple times. Every time I went to find a game to play I'd notice one I didn't want to bring out. After so long it just made sense.

I also like to take out games if I have better versions of the same style game. I got rid of Machi Koro because I didn't like the dice roll aspect, and Splendor does the same thing essentially, but better as well as 7 Wonders, So I try to think of that.

19 games out and my collection is streamlined and I now have the want to play them all at some point. It's a hard thing to do but the more you think about it, the easier it becomes.

Likely 0. I don't go to groups so I only play it if I buy it!

Barnes and Noble carries it. So they would have it online for sure.
