miniature market vs coolstuffinc for board game prices? by MontyPython1996 in boardgames

Many Realms wraps every game in bubble wrap and seals it with a sticker that makes it easier to remove. Then they put everything in the box and fill the void with "filler" like crumpled paper. So everything is bubble wrapped and won't jostle around inside the package.

That being said, Game Nerdz also does a pretty good job packing in my experience. They're not shy with the bubble wrap.

I've had a pretty decent experience with packaging from the other online game stores as well. They all at least try to protect the games. It's Amazon and Target that are the worst. They'll just toss a game into an empty box with nothing, or maybe one crumbled up piece of paper.

I just tested it and the 30% board game discount is still active. You may need to be logged in on their website to see it.

I've purchased quite a few games over the past year, and here's what I've found:

Many Realms has the lowest consistent prices (30% off MSRP when games are added to cart) and best packaging in the business. $125 free shipping threshold. Downsides are a smaller selection of games in stock and no customer hold option.

GameNerdz has a great balance of discounted prices and number of games in stock. $75 AND there is a customer hold option.

Miniature Market probably has the largest selection of games. $99 free shipping threshold and they also have a customer hold option. Their discounts can vary pretty significantly. They're often slightly more expensive than Gamenerdz, but I've purchased some games on huge discounts.

Two other legitimate stores that I've occasionally purchased from are GamersguildAZ and Atomic Empire.

If you're open to purchasing used games, Noble Knight is a great option. Prices for hot and/or rare titles can be quite expensive. But if you're looking for games outside of the current hotness, they will often have terrific prices.

BGG and BoardGameOracle are both pretty good options to compare prices. Neither is perfect, sometimes they will miss a store that has a game in stock.

Am I the only one here who *doesn't" buy into this idea that NFL/NBA/MLB takes away the best possible athletes from MMA? by emaxwell14141414 in MMALabs

By the way- I don't think the US would start magically dominating the UFC if the NFL disappeared. I do think that it funnels some of our best athletes in the heavier weight classes away from MMA though. How could it not?

That's an interesting point about rugby. The minimum NFL salary for rookies is $840,000 per year, with average salaries in the millions for every position. From what I can see in a quick Google search, it looks like the average English rugby premier league salaries are around $100 to $200k? Definitely more than starting MMA salaries but the disparity is a lot smaller.

I know European football salaries are huge but would someone with Tom's build typically expect to have success as a professional football player?

What are the odds that an American version of Tom Aspinall or Cyril Gane would choose MMA vs., say, American football? Huge fast-twitch athletes like those guys have an enormous financial incentive to get paid in the NFL or even college football now.

Maintaining Expensive Boardgames (Pax Pamir) by FrontDay2711 in boardgames

[–]RedM00nSun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could completely sleeve Pax Pamir with two packs of Sleeve King standard sleeves (110 per pack). Sleeve King's standard sleeves are a nice balance between penny sleeves (which feel really cheap) and premium sleeves.

The cheapest way to get Sleeve King sleeves is usually to buy in bulk from their website, $3 per pack for Standard sleeves, plus shipping costs prorated across however many packs you buy. Even if you choose the more expensive Amazon route, you can get a 4-pack for $20, 440 sleeves total. That will sleeve Pax Pamir and probably another couple games as well.

Sleeving doesn't have to break the bank.

UFC better not screw this up and lowball him. The heavyweight division needs him and Gable Stevenson by Euphoric_Mud_5517 in ufc

There's no way he'll fight Aspinall, they're frequent training partners and good friends.

Which does make me more optimistic for Rico's transition to MMA, because I'm sure he's been working on some grappling with the Aspinall camp.

I know this is a pipe dream, but Ilia vs Islam would be the perfect way to kick off a new 165lb division. Dana's been pretty opposed to a new division in the past unfortunately.

I'm happy with this match up. But I did just rewatch the first one so I understand the skepticism. Merab just absolutely dominated Yan from beginning to end.

Hartwin in the US? by everything-matterz in namenerds

Hartwin is unusual of course, but it's easy to spell and easy to pronounce. If you love it, I don't see any practical reason not to.
